Another great immersive experience by Inkle. If you love their past catalogue you will love this. Beautiful hand painted art, phenomenal music by Lawrence Chapman, and a vibe like no other. Has some mechanical flaws but it's more about the impressiveness and the journal

This game is baffling to me. It's a game rich with atmosphere, has some good voice acting and music, and a chill vibe. This would seem to imply it's more about the journey than the destination, but then they give you a destination, and a TIME LIMIT?! It makes no sense. Enjoy the view, but not too long, you got somewhere to be!
I wanted to take my time and explore and see what was around the next bend, but the days go by so quickly and every day they're like, "BONG! 3 days until ...." It felt like Majora's Mask with the impending moon crash. I felt so rushed. Well, so much for exploring, I guess I'll just race to the end and see what this is all about. Nope, now the game feels completely frustrating. Hope you enjoy climbing and falling on the same hills over and over, while you rush back and forth trying to find the perfect spot on the map to make progress, or the key item you need to take to the top of the hill just to mark your map, so you can go back to where you just were, but now because your map has been marked, something is there. I guess paths through the trees are only visible from the top of the mountain, not, you know, from the pathway! It left me frustrated and disappointed.
I got a song for you: Anxiety, in the key of C.

Such a beautiful little game here. There's a lot of replay value in it too! Only one hiccup getting so lost that I died.

One of the most beautifully crafted games I have experienced in a while. The scenery, the story, and the way the narratives with other characters play out over multiple play thrus is so well done. I just completed my 3rd journey and after what I learned this time I cried at the the ending. I can't wait to make the pilgrimage again and I'm looking forward to what else this game has to discover

This game has really well made visuals and a beautiful soundtrack. The story is mildly interesting. Since there's no innate investment in any of the characters all throughout the game it's hard to care about the result at the end. Other than that there's some neat folklore you get to discover through playing. What absolutely kills this game is the gameplay. Controls feel awful. You fall like a rock and climbing feels unresponsive and clunky. The health bar seems completely arbitrary as you lose health from very shallow drops and rain, which is a terrible mechanic to begin with as all rain does is halt gameplay for no reason. Speaking of halting gameplay, you can, seemingly randomly, "run out of breath" after climbing (even if it isn't that steep or long). All it does is literally force you to stop moving, your character catches her breath, and you move on. I cannot even fathom what the developers were thinking to add not one but TWO mechanics that do nothing but force you to stop playing the game. Even if it's only brief, no game should have you stop playing the game for no reason. All in all, this game is clearly not made by game developers, or at least they haven't made platforming games. The art is beautiful and the music more so. The story is fine for what it is but the gameplay is awful. If you are going to play this game, do yourself a favor and at least buy it on sale, this game is no where close to being worth $20.
In short, this game has good art and music with a decent story, but unfortunately it's hard to care about any of it when the gameplay is terribly clunky and unresponsive, only worsened by terrible mechanics that don't do anything except for you to sit and wait. Don't buy the game at full price if you really want to play.

A wholesome game with a beautiful soul. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, poetic writing, voice acting and music. I never thought such a simple game will make me want to replay this much after a walkthrough. It keeps reminding me of my trip to Edinburgh and that chilling rainy morning on Calton Hill, seeing the unfinished National Monument, which sort of feels like the Roman ruins in this game. But as that guy from Edinburgh is considered too "English" by Moira, so I must have never seen the "real Scotland" yet. Hopefully I will save enough money to travel and see the highland mountains next time. Love from China.

The world is really beautiful and I enjoyed the music, but honestly the "map spot matching" was more frustrating than anything. That and the fact you can't always tell where you can easily jump just turned me off. Sorry devs.
Also on the technical side as the game progressed the frame rate began dropping noticeably. I had no issues the first 30 minutes or so but then it began to drop to points that has to be below 30fps. I'm running a 7800x3d, 32GB of RAM, and a 3080 Ti so I don't think it was my system.

This is definitely an interesting and relaxing game. I haven't been on since the update so I'm hoping a few things have been fixed. I'm a little unsure of what I need to do at times and some of the on screen text goes off too quick. However as a large and expansive place to just be roaming round, it's very relaxing and interesting. I also got the soundtrack and I am very glad did it's very relaxing and I added it to my relaxing sleepy playlist.
