I haven't yet completed, but am in Act 4. I'd describe it as a pirate-themed (obviously) twin-stick looter ARPG with lots of interesting systems, itemization, and stats. Most of my initial concerns about quality of life and balance were resolved when I started to understand the stats better and also discovered that you can use the game menu to travel to zones that you have been to. This allowed me to return to merchants, respec, and fight in the arena for levels and loot. The perks are a little tricky with the random selection until you can afford respecs and loaded dice, which allow you to choose a perk freely instead of the ones that were rolled. But it makes for interesting gameplay and adds a bit of an experimental dimension to character development. The one balance issue I'd still say is that minions and pirate allies are too difficult to keep alive. I don't have the beastmaster perks, and I don't know if pirate allies count as minions. but they don't really seem viable. Maybe there are items that make minions viable, but I haven't found items to support it. Anyhow, solid game and well worth the price.

Great value for the money. Multiplayer also works quite well, but you have to open a port in your firewall. Remember to join the Discord server to talk to other players and give feedback to the developer.
