Crusader Kings III Reviews

I fucking love Crusader Kings III. I started on CK2 and have dumped hundreds of hours into that game. I love the history, the roleplaying aspect, and as I learn the mechanics more and more the game gets more and more complicated (and fun)! I'm only just getting to a point where I feel like I am genuinely decent at the game and understand all the basics required to achieve the goals I want, but even still I know there's tons of things I've not even touched yet. The biggest selling point for me is that you play a character. You can customize your character or you can play someone who actually existed. I'm a huge RPG fan and have never been too good at strategy games but CK bridges the gap perfectly for me. My main gripe is how damn expensive it is with all the dlc (very sims 4-esque lol) but if you wait for a good sale, you can get a decent deal.

Overall the game is good. Nicely detailed and visually appealing. Nonetheless, there are some annoying things: Some weird inaccuracies that might come out as biggotry. Also the NPCs often don't react as intended. For example; during a civil war, the defender will some times just chill and watch as his rebelling counts raze through his lands even though he has armies big enough to stop the rebellion... Kinda needs 1 or 2 mods to fix some very basic aspects that could very easily be part of the game.

The game is pretty good. You do need DLC to get the most out of it. But please fix the war ai. It is very annoying when you outnumber the enemy 2-to-1 yet your ally just sits in the holding right next to the battle, refusing to come and help out. Happens too often, mostly in crusades. At least make it so you can give allies orders at the cost of some recource or something.

I have a love/hate relationship with this game. It's fun managing an aristocratic line, but then the over randomization problems kick in and some minor lord you've never heard of in a completely different kingdom decides to have everyone in your family murdered for no discernible reason or saint mumphord and sons the pope of England pox suddenly hits out of nowhere and wipes out more people than the Black Death so this aristocracy you've spend hours building is just gone randomly because the the disease and intreague mechanics decided to take a shit on you. Sometimes this game is fun to play, and sometimes it decides to deprive you of all player choice and there's nothing you can do about it but load a save from well before it went sideways. Lets hope that was a couple in game years and not several decades.

The DLCs are pony and have spoilt the game with disease and travelling, game keeps crashing, CK2 is a better game you have spoiled CK3 by adding crap to it just stick to the basics, I dont want a grand f*****g wedding or tournaments, add more depth or expand the map and dates instead, wont be playing again, deleted from steam good riddance.

Launcher data harvesting is opt out after they steal data. Very worrying. Cannot recommend as the game itself is fundementally reliant on this shady tactic.

It's been two months since this game becomes unplayable. You can start a new game but after 4 or 5 hours the game will start freezing in a way the only you can do it's just restart your PC. I've been playing this for a long time, i've spent a lot of money in dlc, and now this game is useless. I assume, because it's been three month since the last update, they're trying to fixed but the thing they're not even updating the user about what is going on. So right now i encourage people to not buy this if you are playing this on windows, because if you do you gonna get mad at paradox like we are.

Fun game. But be careful because you WILL spend hours trying to get everything just right and the game will still find a way to make your main character infirm. Also, while the vanilla game is great, the mod community is what made me purchase the game.

The game itself is a 8/10. The mod support makes it a 9/10. The mods itself make it a 12/10.

Even in the most frustrating moments, this game continues to beckon me back. The flexibility and replay value are virtually unmatched.
