This is an amazing game which captures the original gameplay feeling of Contra (aka. Probotector) for the NES. It has great graphics, a cool intro, a lot of variation and originality, good music and features. There is really nothing bad to be said about this game. If you are into the run and shoot kind of games like Contra or SuperCyborg then you really have to get this one. You cant miss it. It also has the perfect difficulty. On normal it's hard enough to be a challenge without being frustrating. Big love goes out to Retroware for making such a masterpiece!

this game reminds me of the old, classic games that were on the same theme, they are super cool and worth playing. What I mean is that this game is really cool, I'll give you 3 reasons to buy it: 1. if you like 2D Platform games, it's for you; 2. it has almost perfect graphics; 3. it's a game where the game mechanics can also help you complete it, and the achievements are easy to do. Good luck!

A really fun Contra-like that isn't too difficult. Very generous with lives plus an option to start on any stage you've reached before. Some great boss designs, overall the art is a big selling point. Two versions of the soundtrack, too! (I'm a fan of the retro soundtrack) All in all, if you're itching for some good ol' run-n-gun, you can't go wrong here.

Best Contra-like game ever period. It top everything, 10/10 recommended.
Super fun, generous on lives, you have 30 lives on easy without having to enter a cheat.
Music is great, the chaos in the background is amazing.
It's clearly one of the best game out there.

One of the best games I've played in years! Like a Contra 3 remake. Crisp controls, great graphics and fun story. Great job! Hope to see more game/missions for this, kick ass game. This is like Contra III + DOOM + Slayer! its that good!

I absolutely love Iron Meat. To say it's a love letter to Contra is a gross understatement of dmwhat this game is and does.
Run and Gun ✔️
Fierce Boss Battles ✔️
Rocking Sountrack ✔️
-----
+ Weapon vary is great and offers different ways to play
+ Game offers an amazing pixel style to depicts the gore and viscera you want from a run and gun
+ The quirky heads and chaos modifiers make the game as easy or as hard as you want.
- The level grinding for the skins can be daunting ( However this has been made easier through the modifiers)
- only a few of the bosses are multi-stage. It's not a big issue but it should noted.
- there is some input lag. Not a lot to pull away from the game.

Iron Meat is the most fun I have playing a run and gun. I follow on X and every time there is an update all I say is this:
All Hail the Meat

A cool nostalgic take for Contra lovers. Graphics, music and design all very nice, though the game unfortunately did't reach the level of bio-horror insanity of Contra Hard Corps. There are a lot of easter eggs and design elements that only Russian speakers can understand and relate.
The game is pretty short for the modern standard, again comparable to Contra 3/Hard Corps.
Overall a good game to waste a couple of hours!

Great 2D shooting platformer, best enjoyed with a good friend in co-op. A solid 4/5
As an old NES/SNES-nerd & Contra 3 veteran (Top 5 speedrunner in "Any% Hard" of the world maany years ago) I knew this game would be straight up my alley. So of course I went straight in with the "Hard mode" and boy, I wasn't disappointed!
Everything from the gory feeling, concept, story, music, controls and even replayability is top-notch. Plays very much like the mentioned Contra of the golden era :)
Although the first playthrough will most likely be done in one sitting, the game does offer some challenge, and at times even some nice rng. I also enjoyed the more modern additions in form of achievements and multiple skins. The game works well in single player mode, but truly comes alive in 2P, as it adds more much needed randomness, and thus some solid bullshit-style challenge to the game.
The pixels and hit boxes are more forgiving than in Contra, which I initially disliked, but then learned to enjoy after some impressively intuitive & easy bullet avoiding, sometimes giving the player that nice feeling of actually having some gaming skills. Now I wish I would have been that good in Contra! Another thing I disliked were the varying length of levels: many of them felt too long in comparison to the shorter ones. I also wouldn't mind having more content aka more levels: 9 levels are too few for my tastes.

This game is so god damn good it managed to get me into a genre I wouldn't touch with a ten foot long pole before. The music, the aesthetics, the gameplay, the difficulty, the sheer fucking chaos of the background, the enemy design. All of it, ALL OF IT, is top-tier. I am absolutely looking forward to what this dev has in store for the future.
