This is a quite nice survival adventure VR game. It is early access at the moment but was apparently forced out early by the publisher. It has quite nice atmosphere and gives the feeling of a mid Xbox-360 era game which I feel adds to it, this also makes the load times almost 0. Its a nice 5 hour long game overall.

After I've read a review comparing the game with Turok on nintendo 64, yes I played it too in the 90th, I thought it could be good fun. Indeed my son and I are not disappointed, 10 hours and ongoing says everything. Hunting dinos in VR is definitely topping the 2D gaming from the past, tried the old game again and decided that's not working for us anymore. However, the scenery is beautiful, love the jungle, the little alien like monsters jumping out of their eggs reminding me much on mini "Aliens", of course, and add great fun. Somehow one can't stop playing unless you die. Re-spawning is sometimes tricky, stand still don't move the headset or you easily hang in the glitch with no way out. Graphics are great but my 1060 GTX has a hard job to do. Not the games fault, just need to upgrade to a better card. That said, if you like great jungle landscape, dinos and aliens, sniper rifles and all kind of weapons which are getting better the more you play, then that's the game for you. Devs, you have created a fantastic scenery and game, only wished the day and night cycles would be a little longer, both look stunning though.

Yeah, I don't know about this one. https://youtu.be/rvKT9IZJn9c I know that the Steam page says that the Index isn't supported and I'm taking that into consideration when I think about this. Things that could be Index specific I'm ignoring and looking purely at gameplay aspects for a fully released title. So Xenociders gets a bye on things like the map issue, the replicator issue and the weird bindings that are out there from the community, etc... That being said... Why? I don't know why the Index isn't supported but it's definitely points off for not supporting 12% of the market and one of the high end headsets. Mostly... That doesn't mean their choices for item holding mechanics aren't going to be on my list... That's not the bindings fault, that's the devs fault. So let's start with that. The bindings for interacting with the world. One of the greatest things in VR. Is garbage. The weird kinda toggle system is just bad and leads to fumbling your weapon more often than not. So many other titles do this right that it's hard to overlook here. Graphically the game was ok. I wasn't as blown away as you would expect with the number of times the word 'lush' appears on the Steam page but it was pretty enough. It definitely felt like an indie title though. Audio wise a lot of the noises really grated on me. From the xenosaur screams to the weird bot noises, I wasn't a fan of most of the sounds. The ambient noises were decent but being ambient noises they don't really stick out. Gameplay wise, Xenociders feels like a basic low quality stealth game that needs either more mechanics explained or its difficulty tuned a bit. You're thrown into the deep end right out of the tutorial area. Either I was missing some mechanic or that was a bit too much with too few tools to deal with it. If I were to continue to play, I'd likely find myself shooting and looting biomass to keep myself in ammo and hope that was sustainable. The stealth just didn't feel rewarding when I was so easily seen when I should have been hidden. I haven't even gotten into the waggle to win knife harvesting... I like the harvest/craft mechanic but the actual implementation feels very low effort and low polish. The game overall felt like it had very little polish to it. This isn't an Early Access title. It's a fully released $25 game. I expect more polish and the Xenosiders fails to deliver. There are fairly frequent updates with the most recent being one week ago from the date of this recording. This likely should have hit Early Access first for a few months to gather user feedback. Hopefully a few major patches down the road this will be in a much better state. For now though, Xenociders is going to be a not recommended, wait and see how it looks in a couple months.

this is basically looking like Turok VR... and I like it !!. Downside so far, textures really need better optimization, and longer lod distance, or draw distance. Tazzer is to bulky, hope other guns are not. Lot of potential, make sure you buy this game if you ever loved Turok type games back in the day, and want to see it grow. Dev please update lots to show it's a real work in progress, nothing worse then partially new build with 0 work shown for months

Unplayable with default valve knuckles controller bindings, and the community valve knuckles bindings are god awful from how unintuitive they are and near unplayable. But I guess that's on me for not checking if the valve index is supported. I'm not going to return this game because I think the concept is awesome and I like the studio and I really want to play more of the game but the dev's need to add valve knuckles controller support and make the game play controls more intuitive.
