You could almost say this is the perfect old school arcade shoot em up game.
But that comes with a more advanced design, of course that is not a bad thing (graphics matters too). But sometimes things get too hectic on the screen and it will be hard to focus where bullets, enemies, and even moving walls are coming from. Resulting in dying from one hit, out of five lives you get at the start of rather long missions with a boss to kill at the end.
It might be just because of my age (my reflexes and eyes are not that good like 30 years ago). But the gameplay can get very chaotic even in the early missions.
Other then that there is no way I cannot recommend this game to anyone wanting a challenging game, with a great look and very good gameplay.

Great game! For something produced by a one-man team it's polished and professional. Fast paced action that gets truly frenetic at times. Well thought out with clever level design. Reminiscent of R-Type from back in the day. Worth the coin for something to play for a short (or long) gaming session and test your reflexes

I love this game. Having a twin stick shooting system in this side scrolling genre of game is a "game changer." The graphics and effects are gorgeous. This game play is fantastic, it has that retro feel to it. I'd say its better than R-Type, and i consider that game to be one of the best side scrolling games ever.

My first impressions of this game are that it's a quality shmup with just the right level of difficulty. Got to level 2 and it won't be too long before I progress further. The mechanics feel intuitive and all deaths so far are either due to having to learn the level or my own ineptitude. Really looking forward to seeing the rest of the game where I will be able to give a more detailed review.

A 2D side-scrolling space shmup with light progression mechanics.
It looks good, but the shooting just isn't very fun. You have three powerups and that's about it.
I'd rather play Jets'n'Guns.

Initially the HR Giger style graphics and promise of "Retro style shoot em up action" influenced my decision to purchase this great little game. Well, It delivers the later in bucket loads with a perfect learning curve that makes you feel that with just one more go, you can beat this game. Enough Chat, time to play more.

One of the best new Shmups/Shootem´ups in Years.
Pro:
Twin Stick Control is awesome - Takes "normal Shmups" to a new Level
Collision Detection perfect.
Weapon System perfect.
Graphics - 11/10
Musik - Wow that´s the Sound for a terrefic Shmup 11/10
Smooth Gameplay on 144 HZ G Sync (1920 x 1080 - 144 FPS)
X1 Controller and Rumble works brilliant
Con:
Controller: Buttons not mappable
Keyboard - don´t now.
Sound Options: No Sliders for Sound FX and Music (only Music can set in Menue on/off or ingame with key 8/9 - no Controller option for that).
After i realized, i played the Demo in all Difficulty Modes for around 5 Hours (I was so addicted and lost Track of Time), i straight go and bought the Full Version.
With todays Patch (Version 1.3) the difficulty System was revamped and you have 4 Settings:
Easy - Normal - Hard - Very Hard
So there is something for all Skill Levels.
My Advice: Play the Demo - Get the Hang of the new System (be Patient and you will be rewarded with a great Game Experience) - Buy the Game
Have Fun

I’ve been waiting for this game to come out for a long time and let me tell you or was worth the wait !!
Graphics : 10/10
Insanely detailed. Smooth animations and crisp edges, perfect hit detection. The enemies look amazing, scary, gross, the shaders bring the game to life. The frame rate was 60fps + on maximum settings on my 1080ti
Gameplay : 10/10
This is a classic side scrolling shooter in the vein of R-type. You can acquire multiple weapons and switch between them at will. Just like all the old side shooters do NOT touch anything or you will die. You get three “hearts” to start and if you’re a good pilot can collect more along the way. The game is HARD even on easy mode, not unfair though so you can develop skill over time and get better.
Replay ability : 8/10 there are 17 levels which are all diverse and have multitudes if different enemies and weapons. There are multiple unlockables and other goodies to get by doing better at the game and extra ships to unlock. The whole game is one price, no micro transactions here.
Story : 5/10
Big aliens appear and you have to blow them up. That being said a game like this doesn’t really need a coherent story it’s all about the gameplay, but there are cool and nicely animated little cutscenes here and there and the sense of being sent out to fix the problem is neat.
Price : 10/10 for $18.99 you definitely get your money’s worth
Conclusion : 9/10
This is basically a AAA title made by ONE GUY and is one of the BEST side scrolling shooters I have ever played.
Controller support : yes
Multiplayer : no
Difficulty : hard

I have no idea why the sidescrolling sc-fi shoot 'em up REMOTE LIFE at this point of writing has a 90% positve rating besides the fact that the game game looks gorgeous because gameplay wise this is at max average and that would propably also be too generous in my view. The gameplay is slow and stale and the levels are far too condensed to really make it an enjoyable shoot 'em up experience. The player will have to fly through slim coridors infested with alien organismns while shooting blocks and enemies comming your way while waiting for doors to open so you can pass through and this mechanic simply slows the game down. Ive played a lot of shoot 'em ups and bullethells since the mid to late 1980ies and im not impressed by the game itself. I bought this game at a 75% discount at 3.99 euros but allready after a few minutes i was starting to contemplate demanding a rare refund of mine but as i do recognize that this indie dev actually has put a lot of effort into it and made an extremely beautifull but nevertheless not very interesting game i'll restrain from that as i'll gladly support indie devs that atleast shows some flair or originality. In the end though can i really recommend this game, not really unless on a 90% discount or something.

Cool aesthetics, sound design and music. Clever level layouts and game play. But for the life of me, I cannot understand why the developer neglected to add a simple Pause feature in the game. You simply cannot pause the game at any time. For that reason, I cannot recommend the game at this point in time.
