Whoever decided Hardcore Risette fan was a good idea is a sadistic mf.
I love this game. It's sometimes a bit cringe especially in English dub but it's one of the best JRPGs I played. Do I regret 100%? Maybe a little. As fun as the game is, the achievements were a mixed bag. The secret boss fight was pretty damn cool though, even if I cheesed it because ain't no way i'm dealing with that bs.

Im working on beating all of the persona games, this one so far has been the best in my opinion. Persona 4 Golden's strong points are the characters and story, while the combat isn't anything special its still fun, definitely worth its price.

After finishing Persona 4 Golden, my life has devolved into a strange mix of murder investigations and awkward social encounters. I now interrogate everyone I meet with the intensity of Dojima, even the barista who misspells my name. Every rainy day, I stare ominously into my TV, hoping for the midnight channel to show up and be dragged into another dimension. My neighbors think I've lost it after I screamed "SHOW ME YOUR TRUE SELF!" at a Best Buy Display.
Inspired by Yu Narukami, I've started befriending random strangers just to "rank up our social link." My mailman is now my Rank 7 Priestess Arcana, though he's still suspicious about why I keep giving him steak bowls. I additionally purchased a toy sword from a flea market and have been practicing my "All-Out Attacks" on piñatas (they're still winning).
I recently tried cooking a Mystery Stew for my friends; three are still recovering. I've missed work multiple times because I refuse to leave the house unless my "Courage" stat levels up. My fridge is full of expired ingredients and raw cabbage, but I'm telling everyone it's "part of the plan."
Last week, I challenged my reflection to a Shadow battle. My mirror is cracked, my neighbors called the cops, and I'm now legally banned from Walmart electronics. Life feels like an endless dungeon crawl, but at least I'm confident the truth is... out there somewhere.

They silently added Denuvo into this game when it didn't have it before.
This game is an unforgettable masterpiece, but do yourself a favor and get it literally anywhere else. Do NOT support shady DRM practices.

Persona 4 Golden is one of the best games I have ever played. The characters are well written, each with their own problems and depth. The combat is tactical and fun,and the Social Link system adds value to every day you spend in the game. The music is fantastic and follows the emotions of each scene perfectly.Although the game is not new, its charm and humor are timeless.
If you like stories that stay with you and games that combine combat, sim elements and characters you'll love, you must try this game. 10/10 Masterpiece

Persona 4 Golden is one of those games that you'd wish to play again for the first time. It has a rich cast of characters that build a charming dynamic, making this game an unforgettable experience. Paired with a great ensemble of characters is an interesting murder investigation in a sleepy Japanese town that I hope is not spoiled to any newcomers. The social links in this game are some of the best in the entire series, and the official soundtrack is a Shoji Meguro masterclass. Some parts of the game may feel dated such as the dungeon crawling and the user interface, but overall isn't much of a big deal.
Completing this game in other platforms years ago did not stop me for sinking another 150 hours in the Steam version. This game simply has this special atmosphere that would make you feel at home. This is definitely one of the pinnacles in the JRPG genre.

Ignore my playtime; I played this on a different platform. One of the best games I've ever played. Great characters great story great game play and an overall great experience. I've never gotten so attached to a cast in a game like I did to this one. Playing revival will feel melancholy because of how different it'll be. There are a few questionable decisions though. Why can I miss out on a whole ending and 2 whole dungeons because I chose one wrong dialogue option? But it's fine because everything else vastly overSHADOWS (see what I did there?) The problematic parts. 10/10 will do another playthrough on steam.

The only game that makes me happy from start to finish. Even the opening makes me happy when I first started the game. EVEN, the title screen. If you stumbled upon the store page, just go and buy it. No need to hesitate. Also, If you are playing this for the first time there is no need to be too cautious about everything. Just play it as you want. If you're that paranoid then make another save file when there is obviously a big choices that is obvious and you will know that once you see them.

I actually really love this game. I adore every part of it, from the characters, to the story, the music and the gameplay. This is easily one of my favourite games of all time, and i have gladly gifted this game to many people because i wished for them to experience this game as well. So why the negative review? simple, for a good while you COULD have played this masterpiece of a game offline without any internet, but at some point in the last few years they released a quite frankly bafflingly terrible update that adds DENUVO DRM to the game. As such to even boot up this game you need a wifi connection, despite this being a SINGLE PLAYER experience.
This is horribly anti-consumer, and I DO NOT wish to stand by this, i wil no longer encourage ANYONE to buy this game on steam simply because of this awful practice

Having played both Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Royal, I figured it was finally time to experience Persona 4 Golden - especially after the recent reveal of Persona 4 Revival. Right off the bat, what stood out was the UI and battle system. Compared to the slick and stylish interfaces of modern entries, P4G's menus feel jarringly dated (understandable for a game originally released in 2008). Key information - like SP costs, damage types, and skill descriptions - isn’t always clearly presented, and you’re often expected to know what various skills do without much guidance. But nothing that a quick google search couldn't rectify.
That said, once I adjusted to the 'older' mechanics, I was completely drawn in. Honestly, I went in expecting to be underwhelmed - but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Persona 4 Golden may just be my favourite entry in the franchise.
The story, centered around a string of serial killings in a quiet rural Japanese town, felt unexpectedly gripping. It reminded me of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, but more grounded. What truly surprised me, though, was how attached I became to the cast/companions. By the end, it felt like I had formed a genuine, unbreakable bond with the characters. Each companion's backstory had just the right touch of depth and charm and the same could be said for the various social links in-game as well.
My one other gripe with this game is the music in general - it just didn’t jive as well with me as a Persona series should. Not my favourite tracks to add to listen to but still okay, I guess. Here’s hoping that P4R does a better remix of the tunes available in-game.
Some other background information - I played this primary on Steam Deck and it ran flawlessly with no crashes experienced. A full 100% achievement run requires 2 full playthroughs as there’s a hidden superboss to defeat near the end of your second playthrough - so if you intend to 100% this it’s really a significant time investment. If you need a guide for the day-to-day stuff in-game, this is the one I used - https://psnprofiles.com/guide/8564-persona-4-golden-platinum-walkthrough#4-introduction.
