It's a pretty good tactical game though I feel like it leans a bit too much into RPG than I wanted. Tone is a bit silly and goofy but there is a lot of tactical depth here.

Big fan of Jagged Alliance 2 vanilla and the upgraded v1.13 of the game. Jagged Alliance 3 is a worthy sequel. There are some annoying things about the base game so downloading mods from the workshop I can tailor the game to suit my preferences. I wish the developers would release a DLC with additional content.

I have a lot of time in JA2. More than X-Com because I enjoyed the banter and side quests. It's not perfect. I think it has some pacing issues. By the time you can afford the higher mercenaries you don't need them. (Why would I pay 20k a week for a new level 5 mercenary when I have a level 8 for half that?) Combat devolves into attack at night, lie prone, and pick off guys as they run toward you. Also, there is tones of ammo, but you are really only going to use 3 sizes of AP. That said, these were the same in JA2... All in all I think it is well worth the money.

Really enjoyed this game. I have fond memories of JA2 and this did not disappoint. Truly a fun and enjoyable game. Gotta always have an Ivan on my Squad!

solid turn based game with good graphics, sense of humor, and proper for a coop experience.

Just finished this game and really enjoyed it. Played on both PC and Steam deck OLED which does require some settings adjustments but is playable. I'm a fan of turn based games and while JA3 has quite a bit more logistics and map control management than I'd have preferred, the challenging battles and story-line kept me going. It's the clear the team put a lot of work and care in to this game with fun characters, detailed environments and more depth to the world than I expected. Slight annoyances for me were the inventory juggling and missing the areas on the satellite map where you had to scroll down to see additional choices. Some very satisfying combat and memories. Also, haven't experienced any of the freezes or issues which some reviews mentioned.

Really fun game and a true successor to JA2 I hope they learn from this and make JA4 even better, instead of endless DLC like many other studios However there are many overpowered ways to play the game if you choose to and that's fine and fun to a point, but only thing that really bothers me is that: - Enemy awareness is quite bad when you can run really close to the enemy with your whole squad, press pause and set machine guns to overwatch the whole enemy team and blast the most dangerous one to smithereens with a sniper rifle to start combat. Enemy gets surprised and you get to blast another one out before they finally start trying to run for cover as your machine guns literally take every single one of them down in their overwatch zones. Awareness seems alright for a 1 merc machete runs but should be adjusted if you run literally next to enemy with 6 mercs

Gem of a game. This channels so many good things from the 90's games (and a few bad things). The turn based team level combat is best in business for a shooting based game. The freedom of choice in progression is beautiful and the different mercs spice it up even more. It offers the possibility of discovering things yourself like few games these days do. The bad side of that is that sometimes it offers this possibility on things it should tell you about and sometimes some quests just seem to get bugged (or maybe they would've required some team member you didn't have to work?). Some I did and the game did not register them as done and I'm pretty sure one I didn't do anything for but the game just told me I had done a quest as soon as I entered the area. But the important thing to understand is that you can compensate for the few issues by simply saving on so many different save slots that if things get whacked you can just go back to an earlier save instead of starting from scratch. If turn based combat is your cup of tea, I highly recommend this game.

Buyer beware! Win 11 24H2 causes the game to hard lock the users computer and forces user to restart their PC. Last update to the game was 1 year ago so this being fixed by Devs is not an option unless Microsoft fixes it, which is slim.
