This game has the BEST map layout of any game of its type, and it also has incredibly good writing.

As others have said, I also wanted to like this game but:
1. Backtracking is annoying in this game, and not at all fun.
2. Movement & platforming is slow and clunky.
3. Dying requires you to start at the very beginning of the map.
4. Teleports are not very useful. Too far apart.
5. There are no consistent ways to heal.
6. Enemies respawn EVERY time the room loads again.
7. The game uses an obnoxious amount of screen flashes. Seriously, if you're epileptic, skip this one.
ALL of these points make the back tracking that much more frustrating and cumbersome. There are actually more negatives to mention, but really it just comes down this game not having a fun gameplay loop.
