Blaster Master Zero 2 is the follow up to the fantastic original Blaster Master Zero, including the original gameplay of the previous title, but this time, more refined and polished,. The two main additions is the SP Impact feature for G-Sophia and Jason's new counter attack. When G-Sophia falls from a great height, the tank will regain a portion of SP. The higher the drop, the bigger the SP recharge. This can help in situations where there aren't many big SP capsule drops, with some platforms in the position for you to farm out SP. Jason's new counter mechanic took some time to fully understand, but once you figure it out, it's such an awesome addition. Enemies will be highlighted when they're about to attack, which gives Jason the chance to dodge out of the way and piece the enemy with a blaster shot that can keep them stunned. The animation, sfx and design feel so good and makes it cooler than it has any right to be. Zero 2 also saw a change in level progression. Gone are the liner area to area stages, and now enter a space map. You're able to explore planets, a space-ship and smaller planets. Main planets and the space-ship are hard to miss, however smaller planets surround the area, and can be discovered from coordinates found on the main locations or other smaller planets, leading to unlockable abilities for Jason and G-Sophia. Music is great. Story is a nice continuation from the original. Fantastic game. Go play it!
