The game is pure endless comedy
No edgy humor, no pop-culture references, no internet, no "dank" memes, the references are too minor to be noticed
Many themes, many secrets, expect the unexpected
It's simply a gold comedy, funny most importantly, no need to think about anything, just pure funniness
It's well-thought either. Very random but not like those 21 century humor memes no, it's simple enough for everyone to understand and the game it low-tech enough for every computer to run, music is decent as well. Everytime you find a secret or get completely unimaginable gag you just fill with joy.
This is a game ABOUT comedy, a lot of games try to be funny with either stupid dialogue, intentionally bad game physics which is totally an excuse about their incompetence. Here, the is 2D so no bad physics can happen, also the characters never talk! The isn't even a sound effects! You only hear music. But when the music suddenly stops and you actually hear a real sound effect, that's where you lose your shit because of intentional comedic effect. It's genius and brilliant!
In short:
Whole game revolves around its comedy, its gags. Thematically, design and gameplay wise it also fits
