SGS Taipings is a grand strategy, turn based game which is set during the Taiping Rebellion or the Taiping Civil War. The player may choose to play either as the Qing dynasty or opposed to them Rebels: the Taipigns, the Nians, the Miaos, the Small Sword Secret Society.
Overal, pretty well designed game - so far i managed to play as the Taipings, still have to give the try as the Qing dynasty. The developpers consider further explanation on the game mechanics. For instance, the diplomacy panel was discussed in the manual which appears only if you scroll down opening of the new game. It does not have any tutorial.
Also, as a historian and a scholar of the era, I would say that the game comes close to depicting one of the most fascinating events of the human history.
