This game is just weird.
It takes inspiration from a lot of the old jrpgs, it uses a battle system similar to the one from Shadow Hearts, it has the weapon triangle from Fire Emble etc etc.
The plot is pretty simple and you can really easily predict what's going to happen.
Sometimes the dialogues drag out way too long, and since the plot isn't anything special it can get pretty boring.
Most music tracks are actually pretty nice and a pleasure to listen to, but sadly are very short and loop just about after 40 seconds.
There are various mini games which you can use to get some extra items, and they're pretty fun.
The overall balancing is allright, maybe a bit on the easy side since i managed to beat the game while dying only a couple times, arcana moves are waaaay too powerful and allow you to basically 2 shot bosses, yes even the final one.
The art style is great, you can just put the controller down in certain areas and appreciate the backgrounds, which are all hand drawn.
The game generally gets better as you proceed, it lasts around 30-40 hours, depending on how you play, but if you're not interested in the plot and skip dialogues it gets much, much shorter.
The weakest spot of this game is certainly in the animations and sound effects. Animations are stiff, take a long time to do anything and lack punch to them. Sound effects are just low in quality, with many many stock sounds present or just poorly mixed.
In particular, there's a certain CGI in Gorias where the audio is so badly mixed that you could actually get your ear drums damaged, im not even joking, at a certain point the sound just EXPLODES into your ears.
There is also a self insert from one of the developers, and the way in which this is done is pretty disgusting.
Seriously, William, keep your self inserting fantasies for yourself please, nobody wants to see your ugly face in his game.
Achievements are also pretty weird, there's 74 of them but really 30 or so would have been fine, since you can get multiple achievements for doing the same thing, for example i got 3 different achievements for beating the game, and they were like ''beat the final boss'', '' finish the game'' etc etc, which are all things that happen in a 30 seconds span, also most achievements have absolute cringe names.
In the end, i do recommend Legrand Legacy, despite all of it's problems and weird stuff it's obvious that the developers actually cared for their creation and this is something that is becoming rarer as time goes on, maybe get it on sale and only if you're interested in exploring weird indie titles, it's pretty worth it.
Good stuff.
EDIT: OK SO APPARENTLY a certain part of the ost is either stolen from old games (such as this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7BK2qubStc ) or is just stock, which just sucks since the nice ost was one of the things keeping this game on the good side
Can't recommend this anymore
