With this review, I definitely want to recommend buying Tabletop Tavern.
Do you like Total War games but want something simpler and more immediate? Then this is the game for you.
You have over 8 races to choose from, each with 2 different heroes. The campaigns last about an hour at most and are spread across 3 chapters; clearing the final battle of a chapter moves you to the next one until you win the campaign. There are also 10 difficulty levels to choose from. Even if you only want to complete the campaigns on the lowest difficulty, that’s 8 factions × 2 heroes = 16 hours of gameplay minimum (assuming you win every time!). Plus, you can earn upgrade credits to permanently improve global perks.
The battles are just like Total War games but highly simplified—which is definitely not a bad thing.
The UI is super intuitive, and the tutorial is great too. Highly recommended!

I was really hyped for this game, even though I’d already noticed the major issue with the demo.
I was hoping the developer would work on the AI because it was absent, but unfortunately, nothing has changed so far.
There’s still hope that the game will become more interesting and challenging in the future; for now, it’s a great concept but needs more work.
For those who want to try to break the game: use artillery, archers, and cavalry.
Keep the artillery and archers out of the enemy’s firing range and put the knights in front; advance the cavalry, and the entire enemy army will start chasing them.
You’ll find yourself watching an episode of Scooby-Doo as the enemies endlessly chase your cavalry, only to be wiped out by the artillery and archers...
Not to mention sieges... They're ridiculous—as soon as you destroy a gate in the walls, all the defenders line up and leave the only vantage point they have, to be slaughtered in an orderly fashion.
Another issue for me is that there are so few acts; given that you can save your progress, I don’t see why the campaign has to be so short.
Since future updates will add content and mechanics to a game with such a weak foundation, I can’t recommend it in its current state. If it improves in the future, I’ll update this review.
