Telestians is a turn-based strategy game, which you could call 'old school'. Clearly inspired by the much-loved Warlords saga, it brings a breath of fresh air to the indie strategy game scene. And yes, you read that right, even though it's based on an old video game series, you won't find games of this style on Steam today. So what makes it special? Telestians is a simple game, easy to learn, with simple mechanics, no frills. This seems like a negative point, but it is not at all, as it is a game that you can play without having to rack your brains at every turn and every move: Explore, equip your hero with what you find in the adventure locations, and conquer or raze the enemy castles to the ground. This simple formula works like a charm, as the gameplay without the need for fireworks is a pure delight in terms of fun. With a graphical look that personally appeals to me, a soundtrack that perfectly accompanies the action, it's a game that invites you to play one more turn. As a negative point, the UI, to my personal taste, and I repeat this is a personal opinion, has the game panels, buttons and texts a bit small. I haven't found any option that allows me to change this. With the randomness of the maps and the amount of races to play, it makes it a very replayable game. I definitely recommend this game.
