Vorsicht: Suchtgefahr!

Everyone who thinks "this is like Dark Souls" is wrong. This game is more of a mix between Bloodborne, The Binding of Isaac and Hollow Knight (to be short). It's a 2D rogue-like in white-gray-black look. My pro-tip in this game would be, avoid all complete white objects that are not yours . Now for the details: Gameplay For the beginning, I really recommend playing with a controller. The keyboard controlls are kinda hard to get. As you expect from the look, it's a sword/gun combat. You start with

a shortsword
a pistol
5/15 bullets
15 gold and
the basic stats.
These basic stats are 5 in Vigor, Endurance, Strength and Finesse and 0 Luck. In every "run" you can get 1 out of 5 different melee and ranged weapons at the smith. You always have an "item room" with one item of the, unfortunately small, item pool. You can buy items and potions at the shop and later potions at the potion guy. That basically is the entire gameplay, besides dying and trying again. What the game does great is the option to "buy advantages" with tokens at the start of every run. These tokens can randomly be found in chests and are the reward for killing a boss. Also a nice feature is the option to kill the shopkeepers, although they won't just let you murder them
expect potionguy, but srsly, don't kill him
. Now to the "bad" parts of the gameplay: It's very linear; enter room, kill enemys, enter next room, repeat, fight boss, go into the next level. Even with the random rooms, enemys and equipment is it getting quickly repetitive. The only thing keeping you playing is the desire to complete it. The rather small stamina requires an really good action management, cause an empty stamina bar in a battle often means death. The little indication that you got hit, that you sometimes (often in bossfights) don't recognize and than die by not knowing how little your health was. With some hours of memorizing the attack patterns, will the game become rather easy and you often find yourself in the 4th level. Soundtrack Eventhough it seems rather small while playing, it is really great if you start listing closely to it. Especially the boss theme is really great. Look Not really much to say, it has a white-gray-black colouring with great backgrounds. Story If you love the storytelling of FromSoft in the SoulsBorne-series you will like it here too. Little hints from the beginning, some conversations, the item descriptions and you find yourself in a story about kings, greed and demons. It is not "as challenging" as in the SoulsBorne-series but it lets you decide if you want to know the background behind yourself (character) or if you just want kill your way to the endboss.
Conclusion
I would give the game a 7/10. A recommendation to everyone who likes difficult rogue-likes, lovecratians or is just up for a challenge. If you don't like anything from above, stay away from this game. But I would still recommend buying it in a sale. 10€ would be good if it had the soundtrack with it, but solo it's a bit too much.
