So gut wie das Original

Nicht so original wie Myst zu real Myst aber die ideen sind cool. Ich Spielte URU und das game schon mal, Die D'ni story ist ziemlich spannend. The perfroamnce / optimization is typicaly UE (Unreal Engine) a litle bit brocken, but this game is very good (you can use the same raytracing like myst does).

Für Leute mit Geduld die schwere Rätsel mögen

Eine sehr schöne Umsetzung von Riven in moderner Grafik und VR. Es sieht sehr gut aus und schon damals fand ich Riven noch besser als Myst selbst. Aber es ist schön, dass ich das mit den Rätseln immer noch nicht ganz verlernt habe. So konnte ich Riven retten... oder zumindest die Leute. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3399765058 Die Steuerung in VR könnte allerdings deutlich besser sein. Es gibt inzwischen so viele VR Spiele da draußen, die das mit der Steuerung besser machen. Aber da dies mein einziger Nachteil ist, bin ich da auch etwas nachsichtig mit.

What a cool title again. Played this game when i was young... Now with vr it's also an amazing experience! Get it and sharpen your mind :)

I've played the original several times and was not disappointed by the remake. The story remains the same, the puzzles changed a bit which is not bad at all, since it would be boring for long term fans. The developers did a lot of fan service, you can visit areas you only had little access to in the old game and sometimes you get a bit trolled because things are coming out different than you remembered. Some issues from the original were improved and there's a lot of extra details making the lore clearer and bringing more life into Riven. The character creation, however, is a huge downgrade to the real life actors. I was fine with Atrus and Gehn but the animations of Catherine and especially Cho were pretty bad (tho I kinda liked his evil grin). Also I found it a bit anoying that the linking book from the giant dome sends you to crater island (even if it would make sense in the lore). Of course you cannot skip animations (except for ladders) now, sometimes it is painful to wait for the domes to reopen, but you can get used to it. I enjoyed the remake with its renewed puzzles and I hope they do the same with Exile.

Riven is one of the worst VR experiences I had in my gaming life. No option to just jump to where you want to go insteat of having to "float" through the spaces via the little joystick and experience motion sickness just few minutes into the game, this is a big disappointment for me. I waas playing the OG game and was so looking forwad to finally experience this beautiful wordl in VR. Boy was I wrong.
