Rocking Legend von Domuro Soft ist, wie der Name schon vermuten lasst, ein Guitar Hero-Spiel in VR. Rocking Hero macht durchaus Spaß und hat einen großen Alleinstellungswert. Das Besondere an diesem Spiel ist, dass Rocking Legend das Fingertracking der Valve-Index-Controller unterstützt, andere VR-Controller funktionieren auch – nur ohne Fingertracking. Richtig cool ist es aber erst, wenn wir mit den handelsüblichen „Guitar-Hero“ usw. Gitarren-Controllern spielen. Die Grafik im Spiel ist simple und unterscheidet sich nicht sonderlich vom großen Vorbild. Der Grafikstil ist einfach gehalten. Daher sieht der Startraum auch etwas langweilig aus. Hier können wir eine von jeweils drei Gitarren (Links- und Rechtshänderinstrumente) wählen und in den Optionen z.B. lange Haare einstellen. Alles wird per Laserpointer bedient. Die Gitarre selbst wird aber normal gegriffen und auch der Sitz wird mit den Händen eingestellt. Toll ist auch, dass es gelungen ist, dass die beigefügten Lieder auch auf Dauer nicht nerven. Es sind aber alles natürlich rocklastige Songs. Rock´n´Roll! Das größte Problem ist leider das Gameplay mit den Knuckles. Ich hatte einige Probleme mit dem Fingermodus. Im Fingermodus bei Rocking Legend soll man den Controller wie einen Gitarrenhals greifen, so dass nur die Fingerspitzen auf den Controller drücken. Ich habe es nicht geschafft meine Hand so um den Controller zu legen, dass nur meine Fingerspitzen den Sensor berühren. Ich habe dann einfach mit meinem normalen Griff gespielt und fand es nicht immer einfach die richtige Taste der Gitarre zu treffen. Ich hatte oft Probleme mit Mittel- und Ringfinger. Meine Freundin hat z.B. kleinere Hände und hatte Probleme mit dem kleinen Finger. Trotzdem hat es irgendwie funktioniert, und es ist definitiv spielbar, wenn die Finger in Zukunft besser getrackt werden sollten, ist es bestimmt ein Selbstläufer. Wenn die Finger richtig registriert werden macht es unheimlich Spaß. Der Handmodus ist eher mit Luftgitarre zu vergleichen. Wir müssen auf dem Gitarrenhals lediglich die richtige Farbe treffen, indem wir die Hand darüber hinweg sliden. Das macht wirklich Spaß, vor allem mit langer Rockermähne. Rocking Legend könnte eines der besseren VR-Spiele werden, wenn es auch noch etwas zu früh veröffentlicht ist. Eine Crossplatformveröffentlichung wäre gut, dass mehr Leute es spielen können. Und das Fingertracking muss noch deutlich verbessert werden. Ein Verkaufsbundle mit einem Gitarren-Controller wäre cool ist aber eher unwahrscheinlich. However, they are all rock-heavy songs, of course. Rock'n'roll! The biggest problem is unfortunately the gameplay with the knuckles. I had some problems with the finger mode. In finger mode in Rocking Legend, you're supposed to grip the controller like a guitar neck, so only your fingertips are pressing on the controller. I couldn't get my hand to wrap around the controller so that only my fingertips were touching the sensor. I then just played with my normal grip and didn't always find it easy to hit the right key on the guitar. I often had problems with middle and ring fingers. My friend, for example, has smaller hands and had problems with her little finger. Nevertheless, it somehow worked, and it is definitely playable, if the fingers should be tracked better in the future, it will definitely be a no-brainer. When the fingers are properly registered it's incredibly fun. The hand mode is more like air guitar. We just have to hit the right color on the guitar neck by sliding our hand over it. This is really fun, especially with a long rocker mane. This mode is definitely the most played variant, because any controller can be used here, no Knuckles are needed. Unfortunately, I couldn't try the third variant, Rocking Legend with a "real" Guitar Hero guitar yet, but since these controllers don't cost much anymore used, it's surely only a matter of time. Plus, you can also play with a keyboard or gamepad. It's also cool that Rocking Legend has a song editor right away, it's rather basic though and definitely needs more features. Rocking Legend could be one of the better VR games, even if it's still a bit too early to release. A crossplatform release would be good for more people to play it. And the finger tracking needs to be improved significantly. A retail bundle with a guitar controller would be cool but is unlikely. On sale, this little rhythm gem is certainly worth a look.
