It appears the authors lived in Melbourne city, Because the "noisy miner" birds, which are more commonly seen outside the CBD and not described in this game, are actually the only aggressive creatures in urban areas that will try to attach humans regularly, while all animals included in the game don't just attack people in their daily lives. In fact, only the roos fit in the "dangerous world-down-under stereotype". Spiders/sharks/jelly fish/gators etc. are mentioned in the stereotype, not the birds though 'cause they can't kill you.

If you like 2d scrolling games, the i say go for this game. I know its similar to so many out there, but hey it's cheap and steam achivements, so why not? Its a good time killer when you are dead in some game waiting for your teammates. Great work and music and entertaining. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9VE8xoTIJ4

I haven't played this kind of games for very long time. Feeling nostalgia for old times when we had just this kind of games and mostly it was just pixel games. I like this game. It's easy, light, with nice music, good graphic and not annoying gameplay. Besides, I like the piece of humor about Melbourne student life) It's not a bad humor and maybe after more time pass I'll be enjoying not just game type nostalgia but will laugh remembering my student life in Melbourne. Thank you for this game and good job. Keep it up! Good game for rest and spend your free time)

eh, at a $1.50 price point i'll give it a recommendation for the cutesy art style with nods to classic Australiana (plus it has cat), but the unkillable kangaroos which halve your lifebar – coupled with slow movement and lack of a way to face the opposite direction – make it an unnecessarily difficult experience, particularly during times where the RNG throws a heavy number of enemies at you

TL;DR : Cute art and surprisingly fun gameplay. This game packs a lot of personality for such a low price. Great time killer. First of all, this game has a decent amount of content considering how cheap it is. There is only one endless level to play on, but there are 6 unlockable costumes, each with unique abilities. My personal favorite is the tactical shield, but they're all fun to mess around with and they force you to change up your strategy in each run. The controls took a few minutes for me to get used to but seemed pretty reliable after the initial learning curve. The "story" is a series of unlockable cg's you buy with fish you collect during the game. They wordlessy convey Kaidi's life in Australia and are cutesy and funny. The cg is actually really pretty, like I wish I could download them as desktop wallpapers. The in-game art is silly chibi goodness. I never got tired of looking at it while playing. Seriously, just buy it. I can't remember the last time I had this much fun for only a dollar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4pTu2cUUV0
