Very solid 2D anime fighter! The combat is very fun and intuitive. I'd liken it to Blazblue if I had to compare to something else albeit with a little less of a learning curve. The sprite work and animation is also very good. I can definitely recommend this to fans of 2D fighting games looking for something new.

It's a fairly fun, beautifully sprited, but relatively simple fighting game with a decent amount of fanservice. Being able to play as Riesz from Trials of Mana, and Iori from King of Fighters are cool guest characters. One thing you should know is you can mash the light attacks to do auto combos into supers that do a good chunk of damage without any real effort. Of course they're not the highest damage combos, but if that kind of thing irks you, I can understand you wanting to avoid this.
If you see it on sale for 5-10$, I don't think you'll have any regrets, just go in with medium expectations I'd say, don't expect this game to amaze you.
