fun game. Shockingly plays well for a microslop product. You cannot play with more than 3 other people, and judging by the loser self-insert characters you are forced to play as, the devs clearly didnt think their audience would have more than 3 friends anyways. The combat / crafting / progression is pretty good for this kind of survival game pretty run of the mill with plenty of QOL, but of course you are playing this for the novelty of the setting. If only someone would tell these insufferably annoying characters that marvel is not hiring so that they would stop quipping. It's right behind me.... isnt it.... 0 . 0 > w <

I started following and playing Grounded since it's Early Access and after so many versions the latest one really feels like a fully completed game that's really enjoyable to play. It's a really visually pleasing game and it's really a joy exploring around the backyard.
Combat is pretty satisfying and learning how to parry enemy attacks is pretty crucial to beating boss encounters. There are plenty of weapons and armors to try out and mutations that you acquire make for interesting builds. Base building is pretty simple and not too confusing and you can build yourself a nice looking base.
Story is pretty simple and short so you can beat the game pretty fast but I would really recommend everyone to take their time and explore the world and complete optional stuff because it's worth it in my opinion. They made collecting the golden cards not mandatory anymore for 100% so achievements are not too bad.

Very fresh experience for a person who has mostly played Ark. Cute and unique art style, building system is very cool and easy to use. You think you've found everything there is to this game, but still get surprised every time. The game runs very nicely and the story is very interesting, sometimes even creepy. Would recommend to everyone who likes survival/craft based games.
Only downside is that if you play with friends/your friend is hosting, you've to play at the same time and you can't hop on to the "server" by yourself to grind etc.

Extremely good game. Has you on the edge of your seat at times, and also has its share of great moments. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a well-rounded survival game.

At first glance, it appears to be just another survival game. However, after you defeat your first spider, the game transforms into a fun, combat-oriented exploration story game. This game has some of the BEST bosses I've encountered in a survival game, complemented by an amazing boss soundtrack. You'll find yourself easily clocking around 100 hours without even realizing it.
While the story isn't particularly remarkable, it doesn't detract from the overall experience in a game like this.
The endgame felt a bit too grindy. The pursuit of golden cards became a sanity-testing ordeal, with their drop rates proving frustratingly low.
I encountered a few minor bugs, but nothing significant.
I give this a solid 9/10 and highly recommend it as a great multiplayer combat survival game.
If the price seems a little steep, it often goes on sale for up to 50% off.

I played this on gamepass a year ago or so, and really enjoyed the game. I played on easy and found myself leaving the game due to how grindy it was before progressing further.
I bought the game on steam because I really wanted to play it again and thought I would commit to the challenge of WHOA mode. It has been very difficult, but Ive been able to learn more about the game, and stay focused while pushing further into the story. I highly recommend this game as it is truly one of a kind, very inspiring, and has been one of my favorite survival games.
Graphics: 10/10 really love the creative art style
Story: very solid and keeps me feeling a sense of purpose to why Im surviving and trying to not get carried away with base building.
Gameplay: very difficult, granted im on the hardest mode, but it does take practice to get better at perfect blocking. Once you start getting better weapons, and armor it really does help you feel like you are more equipped to take on certain encounters without relying on just your bow. I suggest playing whoa mode, as a lot of the buildables I feel have a stronger purpose compared to easier difficulties. Such as the Water collector, its more useful and makes my life easier in this mode whereas easier difficulties I barely used it and would get bored or felt a false sense of "what do i do now?"
Controller: I do enjoy playing with a controller as I am trying to play more inside of Big Picture mode recently. However you need to change your DPAD controls to be your first 4 hotbar slots to make switching items easier. As the hotbar wheel isnt useful in battle. It can be useful to just quickly grab a healing item, but only using the wheel for every hot bar slot is a pain.
Keyboard and mouse: Buttery smooth experience. I prefer this, but needed to try using a controller to give a more accurate review.
Conclusion: This game is going to take a bit to get used to and understand. Its artstyle may come across as easy, or simple. While it is simple for mechanics, it still is a very fun and challenging game anyone can enjoy. The more you play the more rewarding your experience will be. As the beginning is probably the hardest part to overcome, but thats a good thing. It makes you really feel the danger of your size and new world view.
To anyone who may not understand why that is a good thing, look at COD Zombies from world at war. It was addictive and very fun, and it would get harder but easier the more perks, upgrades, etc you got.
Grounded is like that progression system in the form of a survival game. Whoa mode makes it not feel like a chore, and is something I would love to play with a friend.

This is the best video game I have ever played through. We played as Mom, Dad, Son (11) and daughter (9) and it was absolutely perfect.
The story was great, the adventure was great, the setting was spectacular.
The survival aspects were light enough that it wasn't a burden, the progression/gathering wasn't punishing, but also felt very rewarding when you came up with something clever to get resources faster.
The building was really fun and creative and we built multiple homes and multiple outposts throughout the yard.
The ending was great (there are two potential endings) and the Marc Rebillet loop daddy ending song during the credits was just a completely unexpected cherry on top!
I can't recommend this game enough to any and everyone.
