Wow!
As YT reviewer said of Alien Romulus: "I wondered if we have forgotten how to make movies!"
I was beginning to despair that perhaps we have forgotten how to make video games...until this.
It has been a very long time since I sat down to a game and could not stop playing for days!
This game on the laptop came with me everywhere!
I like the setup wherein the protagonist has to go out at night - when it is more dangerous, which is a bit of a steep learning curve BUT the player is rewarded with safer areas in which to travel day and night.
So, this game has something succeeds where SO MANY others fail - the lack of scaling as the player advances.
I played for hours non-stop because I truly conquered areas, and when I returned I was able to smash my way through the zombies in a more efficient and fun fashion because I had leveled up.
If I CHOSE to - I could enter a more advanced area...and those areas often have to be reached by going through the now relatively easier areas.
Also, this game has something games simply do NOT possess anymore - a chance for the player to relax and enjoy their conquests with no penalties!
For instance - once I obtained enough resources, made sure the local threat area was reduced, and required time-sensitive quests are completed - I could just wait nights out building up my base - again, with little to no penalty!
In fact, I could build up my forces over the course of a few nights and then emerge when I felt ready, rested and bored to conquer more.
Excellent.
To the developers - thank you for restoring a small part of my humanity.

Story, characters, dialogue so weak, it's a bad game with no substance to hold on to.

I've always enjoyed the Dead Age games. Dead Age 2 is no exception. Combat is incredibly addictive, the leveling system, the challenge progression, and the basebuilding are all great attributes. In Dead Age 2 I'd say the story can be a bit rough at times, it has good ideas but I don't think the author has quite perfected dialogue yet. Still the developers are small and dedicated and I'm excited to see what Dead Age Survivors brings down the line.

Not much better than the first part. The plot is stupid even for a zombie game and the combat is boring.
