HORRIBLE game. Feels so rushed and the gameplay is so bad. The game feels like it was made with pre-made assets all thrown into one shit show of a game.

So far it is a pretty fun multiplayer class based FPS. Still a little rough around the edges, but I able to run everything on Epic settings at 1440p. Movement feels slightly sluggish but with all the traversal options, you can easily get around the map. Very clean and well performing for an Early Access release. The fact that they have plans for full modding features makes me excited to see where this game will go.

I impulse bought this game on release after watching a streamer talk about it. I played about 30 mins of effective game play and although the price is less than a AAA title, this game still lacks some polish. Some Pros: Face value, LEAP has some neat movement elements mixed with some ability based game play. The core shooting style is pretty diverse and well balanced between the classes. Sniper is a great range class with stealth for close quarter fights, but lacks the high range scope I believe it deserves. As for the bulk of the other classes, they use a mix of SMG, AR, Rocket Launcher style classes with some cool perks/abilities to use with them as well. Pretty awesome having a grappling hook and a PV (Personal Vehicle), 100% the best part of the game. Now for the Cons: LEAP has some issues with its core design. The sound in-game has this buggy crisp/popping that happens, It seems to happen only on one map, but i'm not 100% sure. The graphics run alright, as a streamer its a little tough running it with my i9900K and 3070ti with higher graphics and trying to get 144 frames, but with some tweaking I was able to feel comfortable. My biggest gripe I had is double sided, one part is on the map design and objectives, and the other is the spawns. It is SO easy to get lost in these massively open maps which makes the PV necessary but it doesn't excuse the fact that you either are spawning in the center of the fight, or about a minute out of it. With features like the team mate revive, creating a disorienting map dynamic further decreases the chance of someone going out of their way to revive you. I digress, I understand this is early access and by no means do I write this review with intent to diverge someone from playing it or slander the game in any capacity. I am trying to express my opinion, so if anyone out there wants to look into it, these are some words of advice; If you don't like slow game play (Mantling, aiming, jumping, gravity, etc) then I would consider maybe straying away from this game. It isn't like battlefield or CoD but maybe a more complex big battle SplitGate without the portals. Easiest way to put it is a slower, Attack on Titan, shoot-em up. Hope this review helps! Edit: As this game continues to grow, I will change my review based on relative game play

Amazing potential, needs a lot of work. Very cool and unique concept/gameplay but the biggest thing is that it really needs to go F2P to attract a playerbase and some more exposure. I'm hoping after it gets out of early access and becomes more polished that there will be a big marketing push and it will become F2P. The good: -fun movement -unique concept -the bugs aren't too gamebreaking* *except one where you can't spawn in with weapons. If restarting the game doesn't fix it, contact the devs on discord and they'll help! The bad: -horrible performance -lots of blurring effects make it hard to see sometimes -lots of balancing issues (turret OP) -no skill-based team balance. Most rounds are an absolute 1 sided blowout -crazy amount of spread on automatic weapons. weapon mechanics could use more depth overall -not enough players -overpriced currently Still early access though and game has a ton of potential. The devs seem to care a lot and are very active. I'm hoping over the next 12 months we'll see an absolute gem. Even through I'm enjoying it and want the game to succeed, I find it hard to recommend though simply due to the price. If you can get it on sale for like $10-15 then it would be worth it so long as the player count remains stable enough to find a match.

Fantastic movement, great combat, and large-scale battles. Too bad you won't experience any of it considering there isn't a single human playing this game. The developers didn't even bother populating lobbies with bots, and the PvE mode has received zero updates since day one of launch. Whether they make it free to play or lower the price, whatever solution they come up with at this point will be too little, too late.

It runs very poorly as soon as there are a lot of enemies. It was more of a slideshow than a game. So you'll die a lot when a lot of enemies spawn just due to lag. The ragdolls are completely insane, everything gets launched away by just some AR bullets. I only played one PvE round but just that first impression was very bad, so I'd stay away from it until they fix the lags at least. But I won't stick around to find out if the game gets better. Maybe I'll revisit it after a few patches.

>Futuristic weapons but insane recoil and bloom >Blooming worse than battlefield 2042 >hoverboards control like ass >no sprint, just a dash. >sniper rifle does less damage than sidearms >advertised as 60 player servers, can only queue 10v10 >bad framerates.

EDIT: There's a jumbled up mess of edits/updates below... the main thing is this: NO, not even for $7.49 USD. EDIT#5 (10/3/24) - Even after lowering the price to $15 USD, it's STILL not worth it. It's actually kind of amazing after how poorly the game has done AND with the FEW people that have been waiting/asking for it to go Free-to-Play, that they chose to do this instead. Maybe money isn't an issue? EDIT#5 (4/16/24) - See previous reason as to why you SHOULD NOT under any circumstances play/purchase this game. It has only gotten worse since... EDIT#4 (10/11/2023) - Still not worth it and never will be. The playercount can be calculated on two hands, even during planned events. Most of the time, it can be counted with a single, closed fist. EDIT #3 (4/26/23): Don't... just don't. Nope, not even for half off. EDIT #2 for 2022 Winter Sale: The sale price isn't worth it. Please, don't waste your money like I did. I would refund this mess in a heartbeat (believe me, I tried). This game never broke 200 players at launch and currently has a daily peak of a whopping ZERO players. EDIT: Might as well throw in there that it has a super low player population that was dying off last I checked and the player count for the larger mode(s) has been drastically lowered in comparison to what was originally advertised ("up to 60 players" vs 10v10).The AI in PvE mode are pretty dumb. They somehow managed to make grappling hook traversal slow and clunky, so less "Attack on Titan meets Spiderman" and more " imagine if Benjamin Franklin was the kite in his famous experiment and he bathed in molasses". Requires an EGS account for access to one of it's features - modding. That requirement has never been disclosed on the store page as of the writing of this review. I asked for an alternative to EGS for downloading and utilizing the mod tools; that's "not possible". I requested a refund from Steam, because the store page information is incomplete/deceptive and it's so very convenient the announcement of the mod tools being on EGS came after more than two weeks after launch (bye bye refunds for early adopters like myself). Refund was denied. I asked for a fix to this issue or refund in discussion forums- no more replies from their community moderator. If you have no issues with using EGS, that's fine, we're all different. However, when I purchase a game on Steam and a requirement for a game's feature that would have stopped me from buying isn't revealed until after the refund period, that's wrong. It's not like listing third-party account requirements isn't a thing; we've all seen the amber blocks of text on the right side of some pages. There's no way the devs didn't know EGS would be required, so I'm very confused and angry at the lack of disclosure.

I enjoy this game and will follow its path to 1.0 but I am also going on record stating... (Negative first then positive last words) - The Sounds design is just PTSD inducing incessant noise with no real sense of distance or direction - It's poorly optimized - Gun balancing needs some work - The load times are ridiculous - The advertised 60 player matches are non existent (10v10 or 4 player co op) All of this being said I still want to play more which to me is the sign of a good game. Also the humor is genuinely amusing and inspired. I have 100% faith that when 1.0 is here i will be fully satisfied. Should You Buy it? YES...but not yet

I don't think most of the reviews try to answer the question: Is LEAP a good game? is it fun to play? That question is what makes me wish Steam had a mixed review option, especially for early access games such as LEAP where the gameplay is actually really fun, but it's riddled with a lot of very valid issues. So, I'm going to be giving this game a negative review, but in the hopes that LEAP gets some very well needed and loving developer support. To quickly summarize the pros for you, the movement in this game is stellar. Graphics are pretty astounding honestly. Gunplay, abilities, and TTK feel different from most other shooters in a way that makes gunfights feel a lot more involved mechanically. The quality of a lot of the gameplay elements feels better than most AAA shooters. However, LEAP has too many current issues that I think stem a lot from releasing too early. This game is terribly buggy from the technical side in every way (matchmaking issues, partying up issues, black screens, optimization/peformance, balance, load times) down to gameplay bugs (menus getting stuck and not being able to access certain menus when you need to, reviving has strange issues that sometimes prevent you from moving or shooting for a few seconds, respawning can be inconsistent at best, and lots more). This all adds up to create a gameplay experience that ultimately adds up to: this game is not finished. much more than lots of early access games I've ever played. But, with all that being said, those are all fixable issues. Optimization can be improved with work, bugs can be fixed with time, and the technical side will obviously be improved. The last point that I want to make about LEAP is the longevity of the game. This game could be really good, but for how early it is, I understand why marketing has been limited. I don't understand why they went the pay to play route. I just don't think it's the best move for LEAP in the longterm. This next section will get a bit off topic of the game itself, but I think it's needed to say. F2P games generally succeed due to word of mouth marketing, because there's no harms for trying any game that is free. Pay to Play games rely a lot on marketing because it's harder to get people in when there is a barrier of entry. This game doesn't have marketing (yet). This game also has to contest with the fact that it's very demanding to run on most hardware, with certain maps even running worse than others, and too much action causes terrible frame drops. There's also an in-game cosmetics shop called the black market, that runs on unlockable in-game currency that you cannot currently pay for. This game could very easily not have a long life because it'll be too hard to convince people to join in. That is a criticism that I think most people would factor in, that I hope will be examined again before this game were to leave early access.
