This is the third time I've bought the game so I'm a little biased and it also seems like one of those games where everyone interested has already bought it at this point, but it's really fun to dance right alongside Ulala to funky music. The tracking is better than on PSVR but there can still be some frustrating janky inputs (especially if you're trying to ace a stage).

Wonderful, but short VR experience. Its not Space Channel 5 Part 3 but more of Space Channel 5 "Arcade". It only has 4 stages total for the story mode. Instead of pushing buttons to perform the different moves, you will use the VR controllers to move in the said directions. Hatsune Miku reprises her role as a reported for space channel 39, but it is only for single stage. If you are a Space Channel 5 fan, then pick it up. If not, then wait for a sale.

This game is despite it being short, is actually a marvellous reboot of the Space Channel 5 franchise into the modern age. It is wonderful to see Ulala in HD and also in VR. The Hastune Miku DLC is awesome and I would recommend people on playing this game... I know I have not played for long, but I would recommend it everyone... Especially seeing Ulala in HD for the first time in over 18 years since Part 2. For the Future of Space Channel 5!!

this game alone makes the hundreds of dollars it takes to get VR worth it. High-5ing Ulala after all the adventures we had been on is one of the happiest happiest moments in my life playing games. the music is every bit as great as the originals but still feels fresh. the english voice acting isn't the greatest but i wouldn't want it any other way, and even if i did there's an option to switch to japanese. this game is going down as one of my favorite games of all time. edit: after coming down from the high i can recognize this doesn't really have much for people who aren't fans of the space channel 5 already, and i wish it was a lot longer. not perfect but for what it is it's incredible

Oculus Rift is not officially supported by the steam version of Space Channel 5 VR. But if you want to play Space Channel 5 VR with Oculus Rift S (or Quest 2), install Steam VR and start Space Channel 5 VR in the Steam VR Home.

Liked alot but after 1,5h i already finished everything, kinda easy. Story was only 4 small chapters, i guess i hoped that it would be like the original games.

It's quite a literal nostalgia trip, but a criminally short one. I cleared the story in 42 minutes. ====================================================== Updated review after I nearly 100%ed the game: It feels quite nice to dance alongside Ulala and hear her talk to me, and also to
high-five Jaguar and Pudding
near the end. The dance moves are also abundant in variety, going way beyond just directions and "chu"s. A few example unique commands include "barrier", "nyan", about 10 different "pose"s, and of course "Toyota" and "Honda". Even the same command - such as "left" - can require a different action depending on whether you are dancing or dodging enemy fire. This means you have to use both visual and acoustic memory to get everything right. The dance battles are paced pretty well, with frequent but short breaks to ensure the player never gets too tired. However, as everyone else says, the game's biggest flaw is the lack of stage variety and quantity. Each of the 4 reports contains only 1 location and about 3 dance battles in it. I understand that moving the player along a rail is a bad idea in VR, but Ulala herself has demonstrated teleportation a few times, why not use that plot device to go to a few more places? The game also wasted a great chance of adding instrument battles, like the one against Pudding back in Part 2. Since the motion control works almost perfectly, I would love to strum an air guitar and do a rematch. Finally a few nit picks: - In report 3 when
Pudding says she's taking the scoop
, the audio is coming from the wrong direction. - In the hard version of report 3, near the middle, there are a few incredibly fast dodges that I don't think is humanly possible. This is the only thing preventing me from a 100% completion. - In report 4
Jaguar
has a unique "chu" pose different from everyone else, but he does not use that pose during the 100-stage trial. - After the final battle
everyone dances facing me
, which is awkward. Would be better if
they face away, so I'm dancing alongside them as I always do
. - The audio goes out of sync with the music at a few points, but somehow the game can recover from that after a while. 6 out of 10, barely satisfactory.

Get it on sale if possible since it is rather short, but other than that, wow. What a faithful reimagining of Space Channel 5! An absolute must play for all rhythm game fans. This was an absolute joy to play!

TL;DR: If you like the old games, get it on sale and you'll get a bit of nostalgia out of this. The game is just ok, but the amount of content doesn't justify the price. I hate to be the first negative review, but it has to be said: It does not live up to the originals nor is the content here worth the asking price. Or rather, what's here is fine, but it seems like the studio just didn't have the time or budget to do more with it. The main issue is the length: the campaign has 4 stages, each taking place in single static room - you don't move around at all. The final stage transforms a bit, but it's nothing special. There are two additional challenge modes, each might take you a few minutes tops, and a higher difficulty which mode for the campaign. Most of the animations are taken straight from the old games with seemingly no improvements - think of that what you will. The character models aren't that much better either. The music is alright, there are a few reused old tracks, a few remixed ones (mainly the boss themes) and a couple of new ones. They're fine, but you won't find yourself humming them, if you even remember any of them. The developers clearly "get" Space Channel 5. If the game was maybe half the price or had at least twice as much content, I'd rate it much higher. At the current price, however, you're better off playing any other VR dancing game, regardless of how much you love the originals.

What the game lacks in Space Michael, it makes up with Hatsune Miku. All the songs bop, and the energy is great.
