Your VR legs should pe pretty good for this one. One of the ''cut scenes'' actually made me kneel in front of this Demigod because I felt like I was going to fall over if I dont. It was after I had to drink something in order to prove I am worthy..This alone was 11/10 for me
The first one was very good and it was one of the first VR games I truly enjoyed. I have played many other games before I finally decided to play the second one.
The first shock was that it does not work with openXR. This combined with a game that is not the best optimized meant it took quite some resources to run it well especially for the graphics.
Now for the good part...just like the first one it is a very good game ! Like it starts slow and just keep getting better! With a clear inspiration from HL universe with a big dose of Ricky and Morty vibes :)) The world is way bigger with cool weapons and great boss battles! Despite the simple graphics it has many breathtaking moments. There is no hand holding, it really feels like a actual game instead of a theme park for VR.

Good Game
Poor Performance
This is a review of the optimization and bugs more than game. I had to buy it again ALSO on PSVR2 since it was shutting down my PC, despite being able to play most VR games as Alyx on Medium settings. I lowered the settings and it still struggled. If your PC far exceeds the requirements then get it otherwise it could be a problem. PSVR2 runs decent enough.

I love everything about this game. The graphics look great (on a rtx 4090), the worlds change a lot on different levels so it never gets boring, the creatures are cute, the humor is like a breath of fresh air, it's just great.

Using a Quest 3 I played through this the first time on hard difficulty. It was tough but fair. The amount of detail from story, secrets, references, and combat variety kept me wanting to see what was around the next corner. There were many moments where I was pushed outside of my comfort zone in terms of the types of situations that you find yourself in, which was a welcome change. You can definitely see the Half Life influence, but it does not detract from the experience. I wasn't expecting to want to play NG+ due to how long it ended up taking, but I can definitely see myself coming back to this game at a later date to try some of the other playstyles and to discover the rest of the secrets. This doesn't even touch upon any mods they may have, which I have not checked out.
Easy recommend. Do make sure to use locomotion settings that you are comfortable with.

I was looking for a fun new game to try and found this. I played the demo and enjoyed it quite a bit so I bought the full game in hopes of completing the entire game in a single sitting "for the sillies".
After completing about 5 chapters, I went into the pipe at the end of the level where you're in a Recycling Chamber that dumps trash into lava, after going into the pipe my game crashed, SteamVR crashed, and every time I opened the game from this point onward, it'd crash my SteamVR. I gave up after about 30 minutes of trying to fix it and just decided to refund the game.
For the record, there is no reason this game should've crashed at all let alone my SteamVR based on specs alone as I have 32gb of DDR5 RAM and an RTX 4070 Ti. While I did enjoy the game for the brief time I had it, I did not enjoy it breaking my SteamVR.

This game is so cool, man. I don't really like this style of graphics for vr, but this game makes it stick out.

Starts off fantastic, ends up terrible.
Allow me to explain.
The game begins with fresh story, memorable characters, beautiful locations, witty banters, hilarious jokes and very satisfying combat mechanics. Then, after half-way through, the game just forgets all that and forces you to fight off waves after waves of the same enemies without a break, just to progress a little. That is incredibly annoying when you are physically standing in the middle of your room and holding up your hands (gun) for hours.
But, should you buy the game?
Hell, yeah!
This is one of the few VR games outside of Half-Life: Alyx that is not a tech demo disguised as game or just straight up mobile game that happens to run on PC.
This is a full PCVR game.
From what I heard the dev refused to scale down his vision for the game to fit mobile headsets. For that alone he deserves our support.
Just...maybe next time balance the game a little better.

Not Sure Why This is Praised – Feels Unfinished and Clunky
I really wanted to like Vertigo 2, but I’m honestly confused about why it gets so much praise. It has so many frustrating design choices that make it feel unfinished and unpolished.
Movement is a Complete Mess
The teleport system is hard-coded to your movement trackpad, meaning you constantly teleport by accident while trying to walk. On the other hand, when you do want to teleport with precision (like in platforming sections), you can't prevent your character from walking at the same time—leading to endless frustrating deaths. Why on earth can’t we rebind our buttons like in other VR games? Who thought this movement system was a good idea? It’s awful.
The World Feels Large but Empty
At first glance, the levels seem expansive and impressive, but there's almost nothing to interact with. A huge part of what makes VR games immersive is the ability to play around with objects, yet Vertigo 2 feels lifeless in that regard. There's no incentive to explore beyond the occasional secret room for weapon upgrades—ammo refills automatically, and there’s no rewarding scavenging or hidden details to uncover. You’re just moving forward, ignoring everything that isn’t a combat encounter.
Combat Feels Cheap, Not Challenging
If exploration isn’t the focus, surely the combat makes up for it? Unfortunately, no. The AI is dumb and predictable—either charging at you brainlessly or awkwardly running into objects while shooting. To compensate, the game just makes enemies ridiculously tanky and lets them deal massive amounts of damage. Even basic enemies take a full magazine to kill. Instead of being fun or strategic, fights feel like bullet-sponge slugfests where you just dump ammo into damage-sponge enemies while trying not to get shredded in seconds.
Final Thoughts
There’s so much wasted potential here. The game could be great, but it's held back by baffling design choices and a lack of polish. If the devs want to make this enjoyable, they need to:
- Fix the movement system (or at least let players rebind controls).
- Balance the combat—increase player health, reduce enemy damage, and add more enemies instead of just making them tankier.
- Make the world actually interactive so exploration feels rewarding instead of just something you rush through.
Until then, I can’t recommend it. Vertigo 2 is a frustrating experience that constantly gets in its own way.
