Giga jank, not even the fun kind with abysmal dialogue, combined with the most annoying gimmick for a reload system up to date. I could forgive the latter if you could at least pause the game while playing tetris with you ammunition, but nah, better have you sweat during encounters if you didn't find a good spot to reload before walking into a cutscene or triggering the horde. If the menu itself wasn't like a toad on ketamine trip and worked more snappy without artificially slow animations, it wouldn't be even half as bad. Regardless, the novelty of dropping your active mag and reloading on the run makes for a frustrating time as your character refuses to pick up the dropped mag, let alone any other items properly, even ones directly in front of them if you don't give them half a minute time to process this new wonder of a mystery fluid or ammo box first. Overall a weird, legally distinct Resident Evil without any of the charm or polish. Avoid this like the plague.

Cool game. Sort of a Resident Evil spin off with loads of references to 90's era and RE franchise. Surprising depth of story line and cool plot twists. PRO tip : wait until the credits roll for big surprise.

plenty of the puzzles were just, INCREDIBLY annoying. they took a lot of time, id often just give up on some puzzles or on one of the fetch quests and just watch a walkthrough. and a few of the walkthroughs i watched got stuck at some points or did a LOT of trial by fire. gun play was meh, crafting mechanic was meh, and the trade system was just bad.

I recommend Daymare 1998 to fans of the genre. This game has some interesting features such as the realistic "fast" and "slow" reload / magazine system. Daymare began as "Resident Evil 2 Reborn", before becoming it's own IP entirely. Invader Studios is a small, but very dedicated developer born out of the modding community, and it really shows.

I've been a Resident Evil fan since the release of RE2 on the PSX in the 90s. I've played every RE game and understand the flow of the older games and the newer ones. This RE clone fails in many basic aspects that even RE 1 achieved easily. Encounters with zombies has a depth perception and timing attack issue that is part of the learning curve. If a zombie is close chances are you'll go to a struggle scene in the blink of an eye where you rapidly pound a button or space bar to escape. Like RE1-3 there is no concern where a bullet hits, head shots do not count unless you have a higher caliper gun and I haven't made it that far yet. That depth perception issue I speak of is you don't know when they will grab you. In every Resident evil there is an animation where the zombies arms grab you or grab at you. you can even avoid a grab by back pedaling in some instances of the old games. However, in this game there is no indication most times

This is one game that could have been alot better with a little bit more a budget. The gameplay and graphics are on point however everything else suffers especially cutscene quality and character models just look cartoony with their awkward animations. The gunplay is excellent however with a reload system I think other games should implement.
