I was suprised by this game. I really enjoy relaxing games, and this game does a good job at that. Its a bit stressful at the start, because the controls are a little awkward, but I think thats what they were going for. After a while it becomes mindless, which is nice. It does not take a lot of effort to play. Its one of those games where you mute the game audio and listen to music while you play. It does a good job of calming me down.

At first i didn't expect much. I watched the trailer and it looked like a simple boring game. I got very curious and bought the game. After 30 min. of gameplay i can say that i like the game a lot. It's a simple, yet interesting and addictive game. ===[ ☼ Graphics: ]=== ☐ Potato ☐ Really bad ☐ Bad ☐ OK ☐ Good ☑ Beautiful ☐ Masterpiece ===[ $ Price/quality: ]=== ☑ Full price ☐ Wait for sale ☐ Average ☐ Refund it if you can ☐ Don't do it ===[ ☣ Requirments: ]=== ☐ 90' PC ☑ Minimum ☐ Medium ☐ Fast ☐ High end ☐ NASA computer ===[ ☼ Difficulty: ]=== ☐ You just need 2 arms ☐ Ez ☑ Easy to learn / Hard to master ☐ Hard (first few hours) (You get used to the controls and unlock more things) ☐ Dark Souls ===[ ۞ Game time/length ]=== ☐ Really short ( 0 - 2 hours) ☐ Short ( 2 - 8 hours) ☐ Few hours ( 8 - 12 hours) ☐ Long ( 12+ hours) ☑ Endless ===[ ♬ Story] === ☑ It doesn't have ☐ Still better than Twilight ☐ Average ☐ Good ☐ Fantastic ===[ § Bugs ]=== ☐ Game itself is one big BUG ☐ Bugs destroying the game ☐ Lot of bugs ☐ Few Bugs ☐ You can use them for speedrun ☑ Nothing ===[ ✦ Others: ]=== Singleplayer Only

It's a Beyblade that smashes nature and environmental activist put TNT in front of you to halt your progress. Too bad they didn't realize it's sentient. And It wants the HIGHEST SCORE... D:

I really liked the concept, and I'll admit it was fun for the first half hour, but the game itself in its current state is kind of basic and gets old if you play it too much. If this doesn't deter you, I'd say the game is worth looking at on sale if you're into arcadey, score-based games or you're looking for something calming to pass 20 minutes or so. 6.5/10

This is a silly game. It's simple enough, destroy stuff to get points but avoid the TNT. It gets challenging trying to get a high score which is good. The controls are easy enough. I don't come across any bugs in the little time I've spent playing it. Not much time to spend before you get bored with it but there is not a lot with this game and you get what you pay for. This one is okay to get for the $2 price tag.

What a strange game with a strange name. There’s not a lot to say about Overchunked because there’s not a lot of game to be covered, but what is there is a pretty interesting experience. It happens to be a little more than I expected, although straight away you should know that this isn’t a game that you’re going to invest a lot of time in, as if anyone expected that for a dollar. Abbreviated Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpSS7BCC_8Q
The thing you do
There’s really only one thing you do in this game and that’s chop stuff up. You’re manipulating a giant “spinning top” type of sawblade that you can steer left and right, jump, and boost. You use these (although rarely boost) to navigate a level full of rocks and trees that add to your score with consecutive destructive actions creating combos. In your way are stacks of explosives that, upon contact, damage your blade. There are also metal walls that pop up out of the ground from marked areas that also do damage and must be avoided. Doing this is relatively easy, but as you try to chain combos and get higher scores, you put yourself in areas of increased danger that can lead to the one or two hits necessary to end the run. What also makes it a bit more challenging is the procedural (or randomized) nature of the maps, meaning that obstacles and objectives are rarely in the same place. On top of all of this, you’re able to pick up a couple of items that either repair your blade or recover your boost.
Areas for improvement
There’s not a lot I had to complain about, but the most obvious was that I felt like the sound you get when you hit objects for points was a little too loud. If it were a different less grating sound, I’d be much more comfortable playing the game. While there are separate sound slides including one for effects, it's not fun to turn down all sound effects just to avoid one that's a bit too loud. My second issue is that when I tried all of the different adjustable cosmetic options, I wasn’t aware that spending points on them was a one-time switch effect. If you turn them off, you have to pay points to turn them on again. I went through and turned them all on at once (which is a terrible idea if you value being able to see the game) and then realized after turning some off I had made a mistake if I wanted to try them out. They should be something you’d potentially pay more points for, but can toggle on and off at will between playthroughs.
Why it’s fun
The fun of destroying things to some pleasant music is like a core component of a wide variety of games. Here it’s boiled down to its concentrated and most basic components. It creates a game that’s nice to just jump in and play for a bit without a lot of time or energy investment. At times, I would almost zone out and play mindlessly until I inevitably failed, which is sometimes nice to do when you just want to pass the time while other things are happening. Failing in Overchunked really didn’t bother me as it was fine to just start over, the score was more of an afterthought in the process (as are seemingly the leaderboards that only work in an out-of-game browser). It only took a few minutes of play to get a good feel for the controls and start feeling like a game worth the 50 cents I paid for it on sale. It's definitely worth picking up if you're in the market for a game you can get in and out of at random for 5-10 minutes at a time. Overchunked is a nice relaxing and yet frustrating title. This is another title from Atomic Breath which is pretty nice. There isn't as much meat on the bone as there was with their last title. This still stands as a pretty fun game. They added similar features with this one like being able to visually change the aesthetics. At the core overchunked is just a fun scorechaser. You destroy things like a death trap beyblade but avoid things that would destroy you such as metal walls and tnt. This is a good game to pick up for a few minutes and play around with. It's a bit odd that the game will also let you go down the screen seeing as this makes the game much harder to play; but it makes it interesting that you can make it that difficult if you wish. The controls are a bit sensitive at first but you can tweak it if you want. The base sensitivity is fine. It just takes some time to get used to.
Pros
+Fun Concept +Addicting gameplay +Controller support +Nice visuals +Great for short blast sessions
Cons
-Potential for more content -May get repetitive quickly In the end this is a great score chaser. It's not as flushed out content wise as Atomic Breath's last game but it is still deserving of the price. It would be awesome to see this game develop further with more modes and such like their last title. Regardless of updates, Atomic Breath is doing a pretty good job. They are two for two in my book. looks good, gets boring fast. Can't get good at the game when you can barely see whats in front of you. You can move in any direction but going too far one way will reset you to the center which is disappoining.
It's a simple score-attack game with fast-paced gameplay.
These indie games keep getting sillier. This time the tables have turned and you play as a giant sawblade instead of trying to avoid them. The sawblade has to destroy stuff, like trees and grass, while avoiding hitting explosives and walls. Hitting lots of stuff in a row grants a combo bonus.
Simple but cool
It takes a few minutes to get used to the movement but afterwards it is easy to maneuver the sawblade. I played with a gamepad though. Keyboard might make things a bit trickier with the absolute turning speed instead of the analog allowed by the pad. Sawblade constantly moves and you may only turn it around, jump (with a controllable height) and use the turbo-speed, if available: it's a power-up. If you have a shield collected, you can survive a hit too. The map is procedurally generated, with some recognizable parts every iteration. It works well, and the obstacles are never impossible to dodge. There's a zen mode to play without score and obstacles as well, if you just want to chill and listen to the music. Music is really cool and raises the game's quality greatly.
Technicalities
I saw no bugs. But, take into account that I only played 20 minutes or so. You can adjust sound and music volume. Getting highscores allows buying graphical filters to make the game look different. A bit weirdly you have to buy them again though if you disable them.
Conclusions
There are achievements only for highscores, and after mastering the movement system it wasn't difficult to stay alive long enough to hit the last achievement. It took me about 20 minutes. Having English letters for pictures, the achievements may fit as Steam profile decorations. Frankly, I probably won't play it again - I'm not one to chase leaderboards or otherwise play without a proper aim. But if you're opposite of me, the leaderboard waits for your record scores. I still liked it enough. I'd recommend getting it on sale though, considering the relatively scarce content. ~Twistorian Curator~
