For me it is just nostalgia and actually having a chance to get all the way to the end. The perk of having the option to save is a very nice feature. I quite like the puzzles. Although it might be frustrating sometimes to figure it out, which makes it even more rewarding when you actually finish the level.
I enjoy playing this game and would definitely recommend this game if you like to puzzle.

It was a pleasure to see one of my absolute childhood favourites on Steam. I remember when I played Supaplex as a child, and I have many great moments with this game, which are both entertaining and in many cases extremely difficult.
But I can't recommend this remake edition. It simply don't seem to have the love for the original game, and I will even call this remake for lazy, and for several reasons:
- Many of the animations from the original game are missing
- The pleasant music and soundeffects from the original game are changed to some really annoying sounds, so I play this game without sound
- The amazing menu from the original game is replaced with a strange and vapid menu.
- The pleasant feeling of completing a level, and see it's colour change from red/yellow/blue to green, is not there anymore. Furthermore, in the original game you could skip up to three levels - but here there are 20(!) levels unlocked from the beginning? It really feels like cheating before you even have started the game. And levels? It's have been hidden in it's own submenu, and are BTW navigated by clicking on an UP/DOWN button (you can't scroll, nope...)
There are several great remastered games out there - for example the remastered Age of Empires 2 and Command & Conquer games, which I am a huge fan of. So it is not because that I am "old nostalgic" person who "hates everything new". But if a remake/remastering of a game is made lazy and without love for the original (which I feel is the case for this remastered edition of Supaplex), you might as well just make an entirely new game.
If you are a younger person (~25 year or below) who wants to try an old DOS game, and are more interested in expering the mechanichs than expering the original sounds and graphics - and if you enjoy puzzles, you might find this game interesting. But if you like me wants to get the original feeling from your childhood experience of Supaplex, you might get as dissapointed as me.
