Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven - Part Two DLC

Reviewing (mostly) every game (or DLC) in my library, part 103: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆☆ (7/10) Part 2 is the long exhale between two deep breaths—necessary, expansive, and ambitious, but not always exciting. Overall, it's a strong middle chapter, but one that asks for a lot of patience. 📋[b] Pros: [/b] [list] [*] Branching complexity really opens up. Part 2 expands your world dramatically: your camp becomes more permanent, your relationships deepen, and the sheer number of decisions feels meaningful. This is where your prior choices start to take shape. [*] New characters, more drama. The game introduces a larger cast, including new survivors with different ideologies and hidden motives. There's more opportunity for conflict, romance, and roleplay, even if not all subplots are equally engaging. [*] Tension ramps up slowly but surely. You begin to feel the weight of leadership. You're not just surviving anymore: you're managing people, supplies, territory. The writing reflects a shift from reactive decisions (flee, hide, fight) to strategic thinking. If you’re itching for high-stakes zombie action, this entry can feel like a slog. [*] Repetitive survival mechanics. While scavenging and camp management are cool concepts, they can grow tedious. The menus and item tracking lack polish, and sometimes the survival elements feel more like busywork than tension-building. [*] Less punchy than Part 1 or 3. It lacks Part 1’s sharp introductions and urgency, and Part 3’s emotional and moral intensity. Part 2 can feel like a bridge (necessary but not gripping), and certain story arcs feel like they’re treading water. [*] Variable quality in relationship arcs. Some NPCs get a lot of screen time, but others feel underwritten unless you really focus on them. It’s possible to go through much of the game without feeling like your choices are doing much socially. [*] Still some typos. [/list]
