The verticality here is what immediately grabbed me. You aren't just defending a flat lane anymore; you’re guarding a multi-tiered Arabian-nightmare where the enemies have found ingenious ways to make your life difficult. The sheer scale of the city is impressive, with sandstone towers and glowing magical lamps, but it’s the new mechanics that truly bite. Enter the Djinn. If you thought your tower placement was permanent, this guy is here to humble you. He can literally un-summon your defenses or turn your own traps against you. I spent half my first run frantically chasing a Djinn across a rooftop because he was trying to delete my primary blockade right as a group of Ogres lumbered into view. It forces you to play "active defense"—you can't just hide behind your towers when the enemies are actively hacking the battlefield. The loot in Morrago continues the trend of "bigger, better, shinier." I found a genie lamp pet that shot fireballs and a curved scimitar that made my Squire feel like a desert prince. But the real peak of this DLC is the boss fight against the Genie King. It’s a massive, multi-stage encounter that requires actual coordination. You aren't just hitting a health bar; you're navigating platforms and dealing with environmental hazards while a giant, ethereal royal tries to swat you out of the sky. It feels more "exotic" than Part 1. The music has that heavy, orchestral desert swell, and the difficulty shift toward managing "active" threats like the Djinn makes the gameplay feel much more dynamic. It’s a perfect bridge to the even crazier parts of the Shards campaign. 9.2/10. I’ve got sand in my boots and a Djinn stole my favorite aura, but the view from the palace balcony after a hard-fought victory is unbeatable.
