Awesome DLC for a very underrated game, IMO. Definitely recommend Warbanners and this expansion, no doubt, excellent turn-based gaming.

Very short but very cheap.
The orc army is generally fun to play, there are a lot of different ways you can build your army. I ended up with wolf riders and goblin mages mostly, which made for a very agile strike force which poisoned the enemy and then outmaneuvers them until their death.
That made the fights against undead hell on earth, as you can't poison the unliving, and slugging it out with necromancers in slow and methodical fights for which my force was definitly not prepared was a great challenge.
The problem is that the expansion is much much shorter than the human campaign, more of a teaser for the orc faction than a real campaign.
I don't think the DLC is a must play for that reason, more of a way to support the dev. I am excited to play a longer orc campaign in the sequel.

Another brilliant campaign from Crasleen Games. I'd have paid more for a longer campaign, but hey, for this price, you're already getting more than enough!

It promises a different experience from main game because you can play as orcs and not as humans. Sadly it is more the same. The enemies are scaled in a way that not cheesing the battles leads to defeat, even more than in the main game. Might be worth to someone but I just felt disappointed.

This DLC is not as good as the original campaign. What it is is extremely difficult! Some of the scenarios are imbalanced, and there are a couple of noticeable bugs where adversaries or allies will just stand in one spot until they are killed or the scenario ends.
The story is just as barebones and boring as in the main game, but there are not any choices to be made between battles, so you can pretty much just punch through the story and ignore it.
Despite these flaws, it was a nice change of pace playing as an Orc, and the tactics that worked so well in the main campaign were suddenly ineffective, so I had to adapt and overcome. The biggest change was the lack of a healer type character, which forces players to stock up on health potions in between battles.
All in all, I'd say if you really enjoyed the main campaign, but it left you wanting more, it is worth investing in Death Speaker, especially if you wait until it is on sale. If you really weren't into the main campaign, you won't like this any better, so don't waste your money.

worth a buy when on sale if you get the complete edition. the base game sale cost was 7.99 but to get the complete edition it was 8.48. for 48 cents id say its worth it. that being said its a bit of a change up. the orcs units are pretty much disposable fodder with almost zero healing. this leads to the game playing quite a bit different then the base game where keeping units alive and kicking really helps get their stats to a good point. i will say for those like me who read reviews but no descriptions. its only 8 missions and can easily be done in a really short time. took me around 6 hours farming the arena a bit, doing some light cleaning, laundry, and cooking dinner all in the same time frame.

This DLC adds an orc campaign to the base game:
+
Orcs are great fun to play, and feel very different from the humans: instead of hiding behind shield walls to pepper the opponents with arrows and fireballs, here, you charge, because WAAAAGH. And orcs are also weaker from range than humans, but they pack quite a punch in melee.
You can have a troll. Trolls are cool. Mine missed most of his attacks until the last mission, where he destroyed half of the undead horde by himself. I guess he was afraid of damaging his food.
The missions themselves are well done and varied.
Orcs seem to have less useless units than puny humans.
-
The campaign is much shorter than the original(8 missions), but you can padd it with skirmishes (these become old after 10 or so, but the change of roster is really refreshing).
Overall, I really liked the campaign, and played it straight after the main one without feeling any "game fatigue", as the orc roster plays quite diffeently.
