Killia's my favorite transmasc in the whole series. Love this edgy guy.

Disgaea 5, I don't even know what to say after spending so many hours on it ... It's my favorite game of all time and the greatest turn-based strategy game I played. It's truly a game design gem, it's so deep and you are so free to exploit the game's systems like you want. Each player can create their own team and build each character individually to defeat the hardest bosses of the game. Every playstyle is viable. Furthermore, this game will make you love grinding, love absurd humor and its endearing characters. Its soundtrack is pretty good (especially Moving On and Lieze lullaby), its story is okay not incredible, but Disgea is rather a "system-driven" game than a "narration-driven" game. The gameplay is the key. I would be able to talk about it's mechanics for hours but it would spoil the surprise. (even after 70h hours in, new mechanics appears). I recommend you to do your first playthrough without any guide, until the post game (at that time, you will need one to help you understand much better how the progression works). It's a game that takes a lot of time, about 60 hours for the main story and 200H for the 100% or a lot more if you take your time (i finished it in 275h). Give it a shot please ! Thanks NIPPON ITCHI for this exceptional game !

Just love how low committment this TRPG is. Easy to get through and yet fun to play - interesting challenges for anyone. Though grinding can be the shortest path - lol.

Significant graphical flickering, literally the level geometry would flicker up and down while I was moving my cursor around. How do you even manage to do that by accident in a modern engine? Shame because the game is good, I own it sans-DLC on PS4, but the port is awful. EDIT: Apparently you can fix this by limiting the game to only 4 cores (according to NIS America) but I'm not paying more than $10 for a game I have to fiddle with that much. If it hits -75% off again I might re-buy, but until then I'd recommend just getting it on Switch if you have that.

I will start with the game works perfectly on Steam Deck with zero issues, so I can wholeheartedly recommend the game if you plan to play on that platform. The below reflects on playing the game at a desktop computer. Disgaea 5 is a fantastic game marred by a PC port which is prone to regular freezes on contemporary operating systems and hardware. With enough googling and playing with the different suggestions people have made online, you might get the game into a baseline workable state where you won't have to worry about your entire PC freezing every time you exit a map back into the main hub, but this work shouldn't be on consumers to figure out or implement.
