Stubbs the Zombie: A Rebel Without a Pulse – Fun, But Lacking Depth
Stubbs the Zombie offers a quirky, nostalgic experience where you play as an undead rebel causing chaos in a 1950s city. The humor and retro-futuristic setting are fun, and it’s a blast to smack enemies, eat brains, and run around as a zombie. But the game’s basic mechanics quickly become repetitive, and after a while, it feels like you’re doing the same things over and over without much variety. The boss fights are basic, offering little challenge or excitement.
While the maps are large, they also feel empty, with too much running around between action and not enough to engage with. There’s also **no replay value**—once you finish, there’s little incentive to return. The game is too short, leaving you wanting more after just a few hours. If you're looking for a quick, chaotic experience, Stubbs delivers, but it lacks the depth and substance for long-term enjoyment. Ultimately, wait for a sale to pick it up if you’re curious.
🧟♂️ Final Verdict: 6/10, A Fun but Surface-Level Zombie Rampage. 🧟♂️

Wow! I missed this game when it came out, but boy is it a fun one! The world and humor reminds me so much of Destroy All Humans!
The gameplay is super fun and I am impressed with how much care was taken to make the gameplay as smooth as possible. The level layouts make it so you can't really get lost, despite all of the areas being pretty open. The special abilities you get are perfect and make the gameplay fun and fair. So far, I did have a few difficult spots, but after trying the missions a few different ways, things worked out perfectly.
I love the humor of the game. It fits the early 2000s very well, though might be considered "edgy" by modern standards. The world is beautiful, the soundtrack is both funny and fitting, and the dialogue has made me chuckle more than a few times. If you miss the quirky open world action games of 20 years ago, this is a perfect game to scratch that itch.
