I don’t understand why the workshop storage is so small. The storage unit itself doesn't even need to occupy the entire workbench space! I miss Subnautica’s object placement system, where I could position furniture freely within the available area

I love the graphics of this game and the description of it was exciting as you are always slower on the first play however this is extremely slow. It is taking me game days to complete one simple quest, there are tutorial levels but I declined to play them due to finding the need for tutorials somewhat controlling and unnecessary if your game is intuitive. This game is not. Finally after hours I saw the tiny transparent keys in the top left telling me how to use a flashlight which was imperative days previously when I had to replace a fuse. I have to go in and out of the menus for the simplest things instead of having the character say I should probably put my torch on with the 'f' button, which would be helpful and teach you the first time. When it comes to building a light pole everywhere I place the light pole is red at the base and although I have all the ingredients I cannot in any way interact with the blueprint in order to complete the build. I'm now going to have to do a tutorial or guide to find out how to do this, its annoying because you could simply click the parts to place them in or have a complete build if you have ingredients. Hovering does not give any information in build mode about why I cannot complete the build or the next steps. Then you cannot remove blueprints so its becoming a nuisance game rather than enjoyable. Added to these facts if you use your quick inventory and select the number of the item you wish to use then left click onto the item you want to use it on it simply drops the item, this then un-stacks the item and you can only pick up one so if you have used several cables and they dropped to the ground instead of going where they were meant to go you can only pick up one of them even though you have spaces left in your inventory and they will not re-stack into a group. What I will say is there is good story line, good side-quests, good voice acting, interesting things to see, renewing of oxygen and water and sleeping to recharge your suits battery seems to work well. Music is well thought out, npc's might be repetitive but have plenty to say when you are supposed to interact with them. This is hopefully going to be a better game after some work is done to improve intuitive training on the job as it were and floating instructions or reminders when accessing building menus or structures themselves to give relevant information.

Occupy Mars is not a game to me, I see it as a high potential learning simulation. Its Not just for the bread and butter gamer who has only an hour at lunch times to roam mars and who enjoys this product as I do, it could be more a lot more, consider a real technical learning simulation as part of surviving a real mission ? . start small . In game learning modules of different levels with credits going to a Recognision of Achievement in the community by us the astronauts. There are thousands of real space career students out there in the real world who would love this simulation.maybe start with basic geology. Anyway this product is Great and I recommend it . Steve 45 +years Aerospace . Ps please give us 3 hours of daylight in game. Sorry for bad grammer.

Edit: The map is not a globe, that is super lame. Other than that: has a great gameplay loop, Im enjoying it. I almost refunded, now I know shaders load in the background first time you play and the default move sensitivity was 25% ish too high. Character model is godawful, but you don't really see yourself once you get going. You will definitely have to you tube some of the poorly explained gameplay mechanics, but any trouble ive had has been pretty easy to find the solution. Looking forward to npc colonists

This game has what I want for an exploring Mars game. Base building, power, water, O2... etc management. The soldering of boards. Loving the direction this game is going, and looking forward to multiplayer with my crew. I have the vision of each of us taking on one of the tech trees as a role. I still have a ways to go within all the tech trees and looking forward to more. I'm hopeful for more mini-games with the other tech trees, such as the bio-engineering of seeds. (if it isn't already in there.)

It's in Early Access and still needs some work. That being said, I like to feel like I'm truly lost in a hostile planet and trying my best to build a new life. A true Mars survival game.

I have to admit I love this game! This is a very realistic simulator which is why some people have an issue with it. But the physics are spot on as well as the engineering. I suggest playing in colonist mode for the most realistic experience. I have played for about 80 hours and I have unlocked all the research trees. It was a challenge finding all the blue prints but that made the game more fun to play by forcing you top explore but also to be prepared with food and resources. It give you a realistic feel of being alone on Mars and having to start with next to nothing which is exactly what it would be like. So I give this one 5 stars. Challenging yet realistic and will keep you addicted especially if your into engineering and problem solving. Fellow astronauts I have prepared the way for you. I have gone from survival mode to a thriving base with an internal ecosystem. Can you do the same? Join the ERA and become a Martian citizen today! Mars awaits you! The ERA offered me a ride home. But I told them no. Mars is home now... The saga continues! Zax
