Bought it on sale for 1 backs. For 1 backs its quite a deal. Very simple Sokoban game. Great for practicing or casual fun.

The game is based on the film "Saw" of the same name. Challenges, puzzles, everything in the classic Saw style. I recommend!

Those poor family members have been tied up and threatened with death. That is a terrible experience to have. Almost as bad an experience as playing this game.

SAWKOBAN is a horror puzzle game in which you have to move crates to given points, where for each level you pass you will get a key. After collecting a certain number of keys, you will be able to free one of your family members from the hands of a maniac.

I bought SAWkoban upon receiving a coupon for it after crafting a badge. Right off the bat you can tell the game takes clear inspiration from the Saw franchise. As the name suggests; its a Sokoban styled game painted with the aesthetic paintbrush of Saw. The game has good potential. There's plenty of levels to go through—and they're quite challenging too. A classic 80's puzzle video game paired with a 2000's horror film series is certainly an interesting combination; but one that surprisingly works! The only gripe I have with this game is that there isn't a button to undo your previous movements in a level—meaning if you make an irreversible error you have to restart the level. Which in the case of SAWkoban can be fatal; as every failed attempt brings a loved one closer to their demise. But by the same token, that could just be a part of the game's difficulty. And it admittedly adds to the experience. Overall a pretty entertaining game that's a decent time killer!

"SAWKOBAN" is a horror sokoban game mixed with some SAW elements. In the game you have been invited to play a game with a mad maniac which holds your family captive. You have to solve sokoban puzzles to get 5 codes in total to free your family. You have 100 tries to solve one code. If you solve the code under 100 tries, play with the ones you have left because as soon as you free one family member it resets to 100 and the ones you had extra are gone. The games itself were pretty hard, ofc there were a few exceptions. You simply use your mouse to interact and use the arrows/WASD for moving arround and moving the boxes. The Artstyle and music was very fitting. I liked that you could turn of that filter on the tv. It took me around 17,5 hours to finish it with all achievements. You get an achievement for each level, each saved or killes family member and for some other stuff like finishing all games. car and for some other stuff. I got the game for 0,55€ which is pretty good for this game, i dont know if i would have bought it for the full price. But the game is nice so, try it out!

Sorry, it's a no from me. I got this game at a 90% discount. Sokoban can be fun. SAWkoban can not. Mostly because my progress has been wiped. Twice. I just wanna be done with it at this point. Update: Still have not beaten this game. Progress was wiped two or three more times, and an additional time that I won't count against it since I did a clean install of my OS without backing up my save (it isn't Steam Cloud enabled). Still would not recommend.

I wish that when a puzzle becomes unplayable that it will be easy to restart with a button other than exiting the puzzle and reopening it and I wish that after you lose so much that you can't save another person that it would show one of the characters dying.

Not recommended. Sawkoban is the typical sokoban game with a Saw theme. Visually not very appealing but is what's advertised. If you enjoy these types of games you will probably find some enjoyment here with 133 levels. TL;DR Update:After 58 levels played over a few days I felt really disinterested with the visuals and some levels felt the same as others. Just wanted to wrap it up and pack it away. Notes:

No 'undo' which can be a bit of a nuisance if you are almost done with a level and made that 1 wrong move. If you fail or die, to restart a level you have to exit to level selection (top left button).
After getting 1 code and saving one, I clicked Continue, and it took me to the level selection where I could pickup with the next level. However, after exiting the game, progress vanished. Clicking 'Continue' on the main screen did nothing, so only 'New Game' available. So playing all the levels over again. Thankfully some folks took the time to make a Guide so at least it won't be complete misery repeating. So. If in it for the gameplay and thus not using a guide, go through all 133 levels for the achievements before freeing any family. Unless you want to leave the game open over night or will finish all levels in one sitting. One or two family members will die but you will have the codes & can New Game and free everyone for Hero. -- Update, another flaw with saving someone & no Continue: If you click the back button twice to end up at the Menu after saving someone, the Continue does not work, meaning New Game.
1 family members dies after 100 levels, played or restarted. But you can keep playing the levels for the codes. The completed levels persisted through exiting the game unlike when saving a family member.
All levels are accessible from the start, but codes are based from level 1. If you have to start New Game and were working on Code 3 you have to beat 40 levels before you see the numbers for it, versus starting at Level 41 and getting a number for it. There is a Guide with all 5 if you don't want to play the game or get tired of it but want that 100%.
