Very fun and has challenging battles that make being overlevelled less of an issue than being able to come up with an actual strategy! It can be hard to learn the types but hey, that just makes it more fun as a challenge!

IF U ARE TRYING TO ENJOY YOURSELF IN THIS GAME FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE. IF U ARE A FAN OF GREEN TURTLES AND CHOOSE THAT AS YOUR STARTER YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A TERRIBLE TIME. NOT ONLY DO THEY MAKE THE GREEN STARTER THE MOST COMMON STARTER YOU ENCOUNTER THEY MAKE HIM GOD AWFULLY WEAK. I'm gonna type in lowercase now because i don't want to hurt ur eyes but genuinely i have not felt so upset and angry at a game ever. The story is incredulous, the NPC and EVERYONE you encounter including yourself as a character are mean asf, call it personality but if there are 3 options and all of them are "be an asshole to this npc" i'd rather not say anything.
Spoilers for alot really after this point:
Gameplay:
Back to my green turtle sad starter, you fight about 50 of them in trainer battles once you reach the crystal island. Not only is this incredibly sad for the people who started with the turtle (ME) you can find the turtle IN the area, way to make a starter feel special. I can understand making all starters available at some point but at the 3rd island is a bit too soon. Another problem i have with almost all Tems is that their evolve levels are unexplainably high for almost no reward, the move pools are incredibly small making all fights feel like mirror match ups if u happen to have similar typings to the enemy trainer battles. Some Tems also have no evolutions despite having amazing potential to be something to chase after but are left with no evolution, weak stats and terrible moves. There is no freedom to play the game with whatever Tems you want in your team, you are forced to have Tems that you either not want or like in your team in order to clear content and just progress smoothly. One of the Tems i enjoyed using from the beginning of the game was Gazuma/Ganki whose move pool was decent, it took a while to gain decent attacking moves but after a certain point his damage starts to fall off. I was playing this game with my sister for majority of the game, my gazuma was about 10 levels higher than enemies and my strongest move even if supereffective would not one shot, but my sisters Houchic proceeded to one shot and clear enemies with ease while being underleveled.
Story wise:
The plot is alright but nothing amazing, i find myself skipping most dialogue, there was a time where they replayed the same twins joke 3 times. Another thing to mention are the voices of some of the NPC's are so aggressive even if they're allies, its so strange.

Ive been with TemTem from the first day of early access. I've watched this game grow into something much more than it started with.
This game as of writing is on sale for $12, and that price is disgustingly low for what this game has to offer. This game is created with Co-op in mind. The battles are all double battles and the temtem are made to synergize more than almost any other creature collection game. You can very well play it solo but admittedly its not as fun. You go through and defeat dojos(gyms) and after the story mode there is additional end game content. It has a MMO-lite feel which i feel is where a lot of the bad reviews come from.
From the start, this game was never meant to last forever, but the advertising of the game leaned into the "MMO" description it was being given, so when the developers decided the game was finished, people got upset that it wasnt going to just keep going. After the main story you can participate in raids, rematch dojos on increased difficulty, participate in the PVP and other things. I personally like breeding and creating perfect IV tems so after the story thats what i focused on. There is an auction house to sell tems and items too for in game currency.
This is a COMPLETE game, with more to offer than any pokemon game at the moment so for 12$ buy this game. If you are a fan of creature collecting games and have a friend that also enjoys them, BUY THIS GAME FOR 12$! Don't have a friend but like Turn Based Combat creature collection games? Still buy this game.

Maybe I'd feel different if I got a little further into the game, but I was hoping for an experience that had more of its own identity and wasn't just "we have pokemon at home". That's exactly what this is, from the clunky grid-like movement, to the names of shop items, to the utter lack of soul in the NPC design and dialogue. I'm also not a fan of in-app purchases on a game I already paid for, but then this is my first purchase on steam that qualifies as an mmo so I don't know if that's normal.
I will give some credit: the designs of the temtem I've seen so far are charming, and aren't just obvious mashups of pokemon designs, which I have seen in the art of other games like this one. There are temtem that might *remind* me of certain pokemon, but not to the point that they look like ripoffs. I also really like the tweaks to combat, and the streamlined feel those changes bring without over-simplifying battle. In particular, the stamina system, and the delay before certain moves can be used, are really nice balancing factors that make the turn-based combat feel smooth and natural while adding some needed challenge. But I'm not here for just combat, and I'm not willing to cringe through everything else for the sake of the combat. I'm sorry to say that there are roblox creature collectors i would rather play than this.

Had potential as a Pokemon-esque MMO but got abandoned and failed. Might be an acceptable game if you want to play a single-player adventure with the possibility of co-op with your friends, though the story-line didn't interest me that much.

I wanted to like it as an alternative to pokemon but this game a a slog. The levelling system is insanely slow, the move sets are garbage. God forbid you end up in a place where most trainers use temtem that are resistant to you you'll have to spend hours levelling some new piece of trash monster you find in the wild and hope it has decent stats just to slog through another awful maze of boring battles while walking back to heal every two minutes. This game is frustrating, and terribly designed. Don't buy it. Story also sucks and it takes forever to get anywhere.

I played the stress test of this game in 2020, followed the progress for a bit and then left to let the devs cook. They did not. This game is death by a thousand annoyances, from QoL features being accessible way too late into the game, disproportionate pacing of enemies and wild encounters, difficulty spikes, lack of checkpoints, obfuscating quest objectives in combination with a lack of proper way points, the obtuse decision to hard focus on end game content in a story game.
Here is a list of things that I personally ran into while playing single player and coop:
I placed a tem in the 10th box when I played it in beta and when I returned that box was locked behind story progression
Luma or Shiny tem got powercrept by Umbra that can only spawn after the credits roll
A sticker book was added 2 years after launch requiring you to interact with sparkles on the ground all around the map, this quest was placed in the first area of the game meaning if you miss it you have to re-explore every single place in the game
Coop desync and bugs that are 5 years old are still present resulting in a lot of back tracking to regroup up after a bug stops all progress
Side quests rewards vary from items that you'll never use, others unlocking features that should've been base game (teleportation, exp share)
The market system has no stability and rewards off hour bid snipping like its Ebay but for Luma flippers
The story at times will pull mechanics from the games PVP, such as a pick and ban system, but in order to build a team you must go into the PVP menu every single time because you cannot customize your team unless in the "competitive" menu
Every single wild tem will kill itself, meaning capturing it is purely up to chance and has no strategy beyond "stun it so it can't kill itself"
Battlepasses and time-gated quests for some reason???
In conclusion I came back to this game to finish it and get my money's worth and wish I had gone on forgetting about this game, if you like the worst parts about pokemon and the backbone of an abandoned mmo with no satisfaction to be found, then I still wouldn't recommend this game, it's only a matter of time before an EoS

I like it's a good game but the price feels way too high other than that it's basically just being another Pokémon game in the genre the only sizable differences being that you can customise a house aswell as the co-op multiplayer playing side by side with another player all and all it's just ok I'd say worth €10-15 at most though nowhere near the €44 it's at so wait for a sale
