I don't ever write reviews, but after seeing the negativity towards this game I thought I should. Truthfully, the devs may have abandoned this game BUT it is a finished game like pokemon. No one has ever complained about developers continuing updates on a finished pokemon game. I left this game multiple times due to life and other games, but I always enjoy coming back to it. Do not let the negative reviews persuade you, because they want constant updates, more temtem, or the ability to buy cosmetics (which they made free through playtime). It's a great game and I enjoy coming back to it.

After playing for 400+ hours across multiple platforms (PC, PS5, & Switch) I have a few things to say about this game. 1st and foremost, if you are looking for a Pokemon-like experience to hold you over until the next release (Pokemon Z-A) this is the game. Its very in depth mechanics will have you hooked in and grinding at your own accord. The way they have double battles set up with combo moves and held items allows for some insanely fluid back and forth matches that keep me coming back (personally) for more. 2nd, this game no longer receives major updates. Im kind of torn on this, due to it being an MMO that has a LOT of players (they just passed 2 million less then a month ago) and this game DESPERATELY needs both new content and many different fixes to their server/NPCs. For instance, the ArchTamers are WAY TOO HARD. I love a challange, but after 400+ Hours, 150 Luma caught, and 8 Umbra I should be able to crush these 4. THAT needs to be fixed ASAP. It feels way too punishing. You put in HOURS of your life just to beat these last 4 and finish the game, and you cant. They are all on God mode. 3rd and last point; this game is the definition of players first. NO micro transactions and ALL prior season passes available out the gate to play at your own pace. That is not seen at all really now a days and has been promised by games like Marvel Rivals just to have them completely lie and lock the prior seasons behind a MASSIVE unlock amount needed/pay wall. All and all: Play Temtem. Its a phenomenal game, but dont even try with the ArchTamers, they are not worth the stress!

Really not understanding the recent negative reviews. The game is complete but the devs *have* updated. You realize this was made by Humble Games which was shut down last year, right? The fact that any updates happen at all is pretty nice. Okay, now that all of that is out of the way, I have to say I like the game. -Play with a friend and get bonus exp for temtems not in your half squad -Lumas and Umbras are so cool -Playing solo you can synergize off your own team, so get strategic -The stamina is a really great idea -You can buy new outfits using in game currency -Crossplay/cross progression! Dude! Pokemon could never. -NPC's swear lol Look, if you remember that fan-made pokemon online game, this gives me those vibes hardcore! It's really nice and from what I've seen of the community, it's nice. it is LIVE and ONLINE so... there probably will be a couple weirdos. Overall, very nice though! I picked it up on steam wen it was on sale but also got it free on PSN when it came up. I started a new run on PSN with friends.

great game, just doesn't have much replay value once you complete the main story. would be nice to be able to make new saves and start again with different avenues/routes

Would recommend if you love reading thousands of dialogue branches that they somehow expect you to remember every detail of. game is beautiful and fun as Hell in my opinion, but that could be because Im playing with my partner. I will come back and edit my review once I beat the game, as I haven't even left the first island, but after my 60th quest asking me to find some person they magically expect me to know the name of through tediously talking to every NPC with a booklength of something they think I really outta know I needed to write a review. EDIT: Shortly after writing this review the rose tinted glasses fell off my face and shattered to the ground when I started to do the quests "for fun" and realized theyre a bunch of "walk to this side of the map, talk to person A, walk to other side of the map, talk to person B, walk back to Person A, Go back to person B, get a single item that is basically pennies at the store to just buy yourself" I'm sure the intention is for you to enjoy the island to its maximum extent, but after you've run back 50 times just to figure out you missed a quest and have to go all the way back just to enter forty more dialogue trees the island starts to wear out on you. No thanks, I don't want to run back and forth to the same place just to pad out the games longevity, maybe itd be a bit more fun to do this if it wasn't the same 2 temtem sprouting up. I know this may be harsh, due to the fact I've barely gone past the first island, but it legitimately drains me to the point where attempting to keep playing a game of tag like this I don't even WANT to progress the story.

Boring and abandoned by devs. Also, the creature designs are lacking and the story is rubbish. Played in co-op with a friend and still had a bad experience.

I only made it to the second island on my initial playthrough. But, my buddy and I decided to play through the main story together and considering we beat the main story (which is decently long!), I consider this as another game beaten. This game could've been so much more than what it was. I don't know the budget but I would've loved voice acting for these characters. How could it be that the dialogue was so memorable but the story was so forgettable? Honestly, we quit following the story and just skimmed the dialog (which didn't disappoint) and just trudged on. The TemTem themselves are pretty cool, and I love the focus on synergies being 2v2 combat. This game was so much more enjoyable playing through it with a friend, also, in co-op parties you each only get three Tem with the back three in each squad getting shared xp as long as they aren't knocked out. This feature was so nice! I might come back and do more with it, but I also feel content leaving it where it is at the end of our playthrough :) Backlog Games Beaten 2025 4/50

Bought and played early acces, return to the game after a while.. now i need to pay 44,99 ?? i smell SCAMMAZ

this game was good until the devs decided it cost to much money to provide more of the game we loved i guess the cash grab wasnt a good enough rug pull now the game is beyond dead and full of bullshit and the devs have not only abandoned it entirely but they claim theres 2 million players platform wide but steam charts says otherwise and if u state this in the community hub they will ban u like they did me if i could refund this piece of scam shit i would but steam is shitty with refunds i will never install this game again and i have a full team of rly good tems but the devs cba to do their fucking jobs
