4 years later i am wondering why i bought this game. You only get a colored name and that's it. I weren't able to play the game from the app because of some "maintenance" and right now its a log in witch i can do from the browser as well

Finally my favorite game come to Steam! Love it. Super fun top down multiple player shooting game. Recommend the zombie part.
Tips: First open the game, you need to wait a few more seconds ( black page)before see anything, hope developer can solve this.

At first I had a LOT of fun with this game, enjoyed it a great deal. Unfortunately players are lag switching in the game and has ruined any form of competition there might be as everyone else is forced to deal with either extreme lag or anywhere from 150-500+ ping in EVERY match. The consensus I've been hearing is that the connection is apparently just bad overall or people are cheating in order to win all the time and I'm having trouble disagreeing at all. Back when the game first came out I use to have smooth matches and that was before I'd upgraded my internet speed. No mode has a usable connection unless you live in some VERY specific part of the world, that much is clear as I never saw a ping below 150-200 or it just straight up said LAG instead of ping. Don't waste your time trying to play this, there simply ISN'T a way to play it online.

This steam version is not available to play. Game has been reduced to a beta-like state and might not be playable at all. Dev has abandoned the game with no announced plans of returning. If the game ever returns i will try to update and give a apt review on why this game WAS great. Until then I'll have fond memories of the 1000+ hours playing this game.

First of all, I'd like to say that I've been playing Slay.one for hours on end on the browser version, which is honestly more worth playing on than buying the game on Steam.
I've played Slay.one for a whlie now, and I have to say, that it's a really fun game. However, this is completely overshadowed by the laggy servers, countless glitches, and redundant gameplay. I used to love this game. A lot. But that was when the devs actually cared about the game and its community. Now, most of the players you'll find not even talking to one another, and most of the interaction between people will be salt between multiple players. The ELO (ranked) system of the game is completely broken, and can easily be manipulated to either lower someone's ranking on the ELO boards, or make someone's ELO higher, which brings complete unbalance to the game itself. Hell, 95% or more of the users on the ELO board are either extremely inactive, or quit the game entirely (mainly because the lack of quality updates and redundancy of the game). If my paragraph of complaints didn't bore you enough, I'm just gonna list off all of the broken features/downfalls of the game.
1. The devs never communicate with the community, and even when they do, they'll only usually interact with the most boring/useless posts of the Slay.one subreddit. They completely fail to receive complaints and only seem to make Slay.one worse and worse as time goes on.
2. The "Infection" mode of the game is pretty much broken. There's no teamwork aspect of it at all because if you end up teaming up with someone you'll most likely end up dead, and it pretty much ruins the entire gamemode entirely.
3. Custom builds have been removed, which means you can't choose your own loadout, and the only gamemode you can use custom builds in is Normal Deathmatch (which barely anyone plays, by the way. You'll find arenas completely filled up with bots.).
4. The updates take months to come out, and when they do come out, they're usually full of glitches that failed to be fixed in a timely fashion. An example of this is the April 3rd update, which completely ruined the game with a gamebreaking bug that would glitch out your entire screen (by the way, that update took months to come out and somehow the devs didn't do anything about it until 2 weeks+ later.).
5. The devs fail to fix glitches that have been here for way too long (e.g. invisible walls).
6. The ELO system is completely broken, and has been completely broken ever since it came out. The ELO system never changed, and Ranked Deathmatch consists of things called ELO Assassins, which kill people with a high ELO, and drag their score down for no apparent reason.
7. Their is an epidemic of teamers in the Normal Detahmatch/Ranked Deathmatch modes, and it completely ruins the points of these gamemodes, and these people never seem to be punished.
8. A lot of the maps for each and every gamemode aren't even in the voting pool for the next round, and that renders the maps completely useless, because if you mad a match on your own, no one would join.
9. There are turret spammers everywhere littered into the game, who just spam turrets anywhere and everywhere, and it's completely unbalanced.
10. There are virtually no moderators to enforce the rules of the game, which means there are trollers/rulebreakers everywhere, and they completely ruin the gameplay experience.
11. Chests are completely luck-based, and don't encourage players to do their best in a game, and the game generally lacks an incentive to get chests (because you can just AFK in a match for 5mins and get a chest, How fun!). The chests are completely lackluster.
12. Clans are completely useless, because there are no rewards at all for being in a clan, besides getting on the leaderboards (which is a waste of effort, honestly.). Also, because the clans depend on the ELO system for their scoring, the clans system is completely broken as well.
13. The game lags frequently, and the servers suck, which can easily ruin gameplay.
Well, that's all I'm going to cover now, I'll edit this some other time and add some more issues with the game. I cannot at all recommend this game, because of the countless issues with it, and the almost completely inactive devs.
If you want to see more (and valid) complaints about this game, just check the top posts of all time in the SlayOne subreddit, you'll see.
