Played this game a few years ago on the Switch and just found it again on Steam. Solid game, good exploration. As easy or as hard as you want it to be; even if you have the game set to 'hard,' you can get access to tools and weapons that borderline break the game if you want. Easily my favorite title in the soulslike-metroidvania subgenre, beating out Blasphemous and the Salt games.

A solid metroidvania, dark and decadent, with an emphasis on dodging and attacking. Lots of weapons and equipment, even changing the appearance of the protagonist (not always a given in 2D games)! Lots of techniques and skills to learn based on your preferred weapon category, with the possibility (much later in the story) of managing individual skill points. Interesting story with many side quests. The game takes two play throughs to complete 100% of the trophies (due to a quest with two forks, with only one choice per play through), but with the possibility of NG+ it is a pleasure to replay it a second time, as I did! Highly recommended!
