Amazing and sad story. Also very funny. Recommend it to everyone. It's a point and click adventure. Specially if you like dark humour like me. Her voice is so cute.

This game had such an impact on me that several of Lady Misfortune's phrases have become a part of my everyday vocabulary - and they've stuck with me for years. From the captivating art style to the brilliant voice acting, the relentless humor, and the mysterious adventure, I was glued to my screen. I believe the emotional depth of the underlying story - so heartbreaking and poignant - is what truly drew me in. While some might argue that the game mechanics are limited, I've never been let down by any of the alternatives I've played through. As a Swede, is was especially heartwarming to see so many references to Swedish culture woven throughout the game. Thank you for providing so many hours of immersive gameplay and years of appreciation!

Brilliant, charming, light-hearted yet very dark writing with cute art-book style visuals. One of those 'you just have to try it' if you like narrative driven games. 'Yikes! Forever...' will be a part of my gaming vocabulary for a long time to come.

Great game with beautiful visuals but your choices do not matter in the end at all.

Bizarre, surreal little game that will certainly make even dead inside people feel something by the end of it. Art and voice acting won me over, easily making up for rather short duration and several other issues.
One of them being the fact that practically nothing of what The Voice insists will have consequences does and the questions you answer carry only informational context to give you some more background on Misfortune.
And then alongside with the main story, authors try to do social critique on various hot button topics, but it feels very crude, out of place and adds little outside of airing their pet peeves to the public. Just go and rant on twitter at this point.

Little Misfortune is a game that lures you in with its adorable protagonist, a cute hand-drawn art style, and a seemingly innocent story about a little girl searching for happiness. But don’t be fooled—behind the sweet, childlike presentation lies one of the most shockingly dark, emotionally brutal, and morally unsettling narratives in recent gaming. It’s a game that is both deeply funny and heartbreakingly tragic, often at the same time.
The story follows Misfortune Ramirez Hernandez, an eight-year-old girl with a troubled home life, who is guided by a mysterious, silky-voiced narrator. She’s promised a grand prize of eternal happiness, which she hopes to give to her alcoholic mother. But as she embarks on this surreal adventure, it quickly becomes clear that the world is not kind to her.
Misfortune’s cheerful attitude and naïve innocence make the game’s horrific moments hit even harder. She encounters animal abuse, kidnappings, cults, and grim references to child exploitation and death—all wrapped up in a deceptively whimsical package. The game constantly toys with your emotions, making you laugh at Misfortune’s silly antics, only to sucker-punch you with a devastating realization moments later.
The game’s humor is sharp and dark, often highlighting Misfortune’s tragic ignorance of her own suffering. She mispronounces words in an endearing way, makes bizarrely innocent observations about deeply disturbing things, and remains largely oblivious to the true horror surrounding her. She treats everything as a game, even when it’s clear that she’s in real danger.
The Narrator, who seems friendly at first, slowly becomes more unsettling, hinting at something far more sinister. His interactions with Misfortune are often hilarious but also incredibly unnerving, especially as his motives become more apparent.
Beyond its surreal horror, Little Misfortune is ultimately about neglect, trauma, and the harsh realities of a child growing up in an abusive environment. Unlike many games where choices shape the ending, Little Misfortune plays with the idea of false agency—you’re given choices, but in the end, Misfortune’s fate is inevitable. It’s a cruel but fitting message, reinforcing how powerless she really is in a world designed to fail her.
Little Misfortune is a game that leaves you laughing one moment and emotionally wrecked the next. It masterfully balances dark humor with shocking, existential horror, making it one of the most unique narrative experiences in gaming. The charming art, eerie atmosphere, and tragic storytelling make it an unforgettable experience—one that lingers long after the credits roll.
If you enjoy games that are both disturbing and strangely heartwarming, Little Misfortune is a must-play. Just be prepared for an emotional gut punch.

I loved this game! It's a point and click style game with lots of dark humor. I didn't notice that choices mattered but they made for some funny dialog and cut scenes. Would definitely recommend for someone looking for a quick game.
