This game was fantastic in its day but you won't get it to run unless you want to jump through a large number of technical hoops to get it to not only run but run at a stable framerate with 0 stuttering. i wish with all my heart that EA would see the value in remastering this title but barring that just making it run and updating it for modern controller support would be peak.

This game is about 6.9 gigabytes and is an original classic to be held in high regard. Dragon Age Veilguard is 92.7 gigabytes and is a DEI atrocity, a multicolored s.hit mark on the planet. Both games are made by the same companies. What the f.uck happened?

The forgotten middle child of Bioware games and honestly I can see why...tho not for a lack of trying
First off: this port has some real jank that you need to fix to get the game working (add steam dll to the folder, rename the launchers, the framerate being tied to how long you restarted your computer, etc.) which is frustrating but no big problems after you get the game rolling.
As for the game itself, it's a very interesting one. You can see the transition from Bioware's pseudo turn based combat to full real time action and their first original story/setting has cool elements to it, however it is a much smaller game than other Bioware games.
Even compared to their older games, like KOTOR, the story length, amount of quests, unique areas, no real character creator, loot, companion dialogue/banter, enemy variety, and options/feats to tackle challenges; there is just less of it in this title. There's also some odd jank in this game like: only allowed to have one companion by your side (90% of them are just stuck at camp and don't do much), the majority of levels being so narrow/linear they are basically hallways that only let you go from point A to B (lucky to find a fork in the road), and no fast travel options at all (even KOTOR has some).
Even with all of that, it's still a fun game that has a simple combat, has a good variety of combat styles/weapons, some memorable quests, the fun option to be a saint or very evil (evil here gets very dark and twisted which can be very fun), a interesting setting, and a story with some well made surprises.

this game is insanely fun for no reason, unironically some of the most interesting and engaging combat from a game that i've ever played. One of my favourite parts is that everyone who voices this predominantly asian setting game is your standard english salaryman.
