Love this game, and super excited for the DLC, but can't get it to install. I've cleared my download cache and changed my region, neither worked, can anybody help me out?

I'm on the border for how to rate the "Open Sorcery: Jingle BEL/S" DLC for the "Open Sorcery" base game. It plays just like the base game and is very well done. It took me 1.9 hours to finish my first run and a total of 7.2 hours to finish all the Achievements. So, at about $4, the dollar-per-hour ratio is good. At the bothersome level, for some reason the amount of homosexual stuff in this DLC seems more irritating then it was in the base game. It's not a big problem, but I don't see the reason it's in the game at all. So, bypassing that, the biggest issue I have with the game is that it takes an awful lot of work to get all the Achievements. Basically, it takes a lot of saving/loading and the exploration of all the different combinations and permutations of the dialog/action trees. Yes, I know that's really the point of these kinds of games. But, I guess I've just gotten too old for that. Anyway, I'm on the border. Since there are currently only 5 reviews for the DLC, I guess I'll err on the side of generosity and Recommend it.

Really sweet and queer holiday story. If you enjoyed the main Open Sorcery game and wanted to spend more time with those characters, you'll have a great time with this.

...I think that was some of the best writing and puzzles I've experienced in ages now. Also the marigolds were genius for Pyreworm and BEL/S i Don't think I've felt more touched by any other portrayal of AI yet.

I love Open socery but I'm unable to install the DLC , Ive tied everything from deleting local data to force steam to rescan files all the way to unsinstalling the base game and trying to install the dlc at the same time, and nothing seems to work.

A very wholesome expansion to the first game’s story. It feels much harder to get the best ending without hints, but it’s helped by the fact that there are many variations on the ending. If you wanted more like the canon ending of Open Sorcery, definitely get this. There are no alternate stories like returning to the sun or partnering with the villain that I have seen, though,

Think of it less as a Christmas story and more of a very good story that happens to be about Christmas. The core writing is great - potentially better than the base game. It's more linear than the original Open Sorcery, because it picks up from the end of the "canon" playthrough, but it balances this out with more emphasis on puzzles. Your first playthrough will have a lot of self-contained puzzles on the way to the ending, and subsequent playthroughs will be about trying to plan the week out to get everyone the best gifts you can.
I heartily recommend it to anyone who liked the base game, but you probably don't want to play through it until you've played through the base game at least once.
