When I open the game I'm stuck on an looping "PLEASE WAIT" "LOGGING IN" and it never loads, Do not buy this game until this issue is fixed.

Great game, but an awful experience
Population one has solid gameplay and can be fun under the right conditions, but I can’t recommend it, mainly due to the player base, poor optimization, and lack of moderation.
The player base
Every now and then, you’ll run into someone who's actually chill, but most of the time, it's just annoying kids screaming at each other. Many of them can't even handle dying once without throwing a tantrum and rallying the entire server against you just because you killed them. It gets frustrating fast.
Optimization? nonexistant.
If you have a low-end PC and try playing this on SteamVR, don’t be surprised if your system turns into the sun. The game is BARELY optimized for larger servers, and once the player count goes above 12, the lag becomes HORRID. The best experience you'll have is in a 7-12 player server—anything more, and it starts feeling like a powerpoint slideshow.
Toxic map creators and lack of moderation
As if the player base wasn’t bad enough, many map creators are EXTREMELY toxic. One of my worst experiences was with the creator of the "McDonald's 2026" map. I tried to give feedback about how they ruined the original map, and their response? Mocking me in a nerd voice and throwing slurs at me. Just ridiculous.
On top of that, moderation is almost nonexistent. I've seen plenty of sexual content in some maps, and it stays up because no one moderates the game properly.
Why this game could die
One of the biggest reasons this game might fall apart is that some smaller map creators (like myself) and mature players are quitting due to:
A: The lack of moderation—offensive content and toxic players run unchecked.
B: The toxic and immature community, making the game feel more frustrating than fun.
Final verdict
If you can find a small, stable server, you might have fun. But between the immature player base, terrible optimization, and nonexistent moderation, Population: One is hard to recommend unless you really know what you're getting into.
