Game play, Aesthetic, Soundtrack, and Design are all pleasing to the Machine Spirit. Can't wait for Mechanicus II.

Some of these randomized rewards are god damn wastes of time and make the game even harder by deleting what could've been a useful reward with some dogshit "archeotech" trinket.
big sigh on the high irritability of some of these missions but I guess that's the point of a game based in 40k.

It's like a math problem but it's all guns and axes.
The game is "Solved" fairly quickly and drags on longer than it needs to.
But it's also simultaneously a power fantasy at that point.

I like Warhammer
I like Fire Emblem
I like squares
I like this game
get it on sale for dirt cheap, and don't expect a masterpiece, but it's a neat Warhammer grid tactics game.

Several major design flaws that prevents the game from being enjoyable.
- game severly punishes exploration, which on its face is super dumb, but it's even dumber for a game that's about exploring a necron tomb lol
- some enemies are absurdly balanced. The Triarch Praetorians will arbitrarily oneshot some of your units without letting you do ANYTHING about it. Like seriously. 2 Triarch Praetorians focusing the same priest = T1KO before you move a single unit.
- disable achievements on custom settings... Seriously ?
- badly optimized. The game has only 4 screens but somehow runs poorly
- some possible builds are absolutely bonkers and will allow you to cheese the entire game. Clearly there was no testing on that part.
- the game puts a heavy emphasis on making choices for dilemnas, but 99% of the time you are completely in the dark about what your choices do, and the resulting effects are usually not really related to the choice itself in a predictable way. So most of the time your choices will boil down to just random choices and luck.
- the entire game from start to finish is scripted. everything is placed by hand and non repeatable. Considering the game's structure you would expect it to be randomized but lol no. Shameful for a 2018 game to be designed like it's 1999.
- severe lack of variety in the exploration rooms events department. You have dilemnas (obscure choices), glyphs (even more obscure choices) and a few fights you usually aren't warned about. Considering the amount of grind and lifespan of the story you would expect it to have a lot more content but lol no it's just those three
- enemies are more diverse at least, but still on the shorter side. You have your same exact basic fodder unit you'll fight 24/7 with some special units added, the latters being a 50/50 between weak gimmick and brokenly OP. Apprently the devs were allergic to balancing. The same applies for bosses: they are either total jokes or pure cancer, no middleground.
I considered using mods to fix this mess of a game, but apparently the community of this game is super small (not a surprise) and the modding scene is even smaller, so that's an uninstall for me. Shame i can't refund it.

Fun game if you like resource management and rogulite elements. Probably not for everyone especially if your not a fan of slow turn based combat. Overall I enjoyed it.

Incredible game with insanely good OST!
Some missions can take quite some time to complete and once you get your build/strategy going the game becomes mostly trivial. However the gameplay, graphics and OST make even slog-ish missions highly enjoyable.
Bosses are unique and memorable, each of them require different approach (but still, even with mediocre build they are quite easy).
Overall I highly recommend this game!
... for the Machine is immortal. Even in death I serve the Omnissiah!

Mixed feelings on this one.
On the one hand, I like Adeptus Mechanicus (sotr of), and the game introduces this faction very well. It is atmospheric, the music is good, and I like turn-based combat, so those all worked for me.
The awakeining countdown, on the other hand, was not enjoyable at all. I learnt to manage it, but being able to deal with something does not necessarily make it more appealing. I would have preferred to explore at leisure. Maybe if they wanted to create a sense of urgency, they should have just made it impossible to save while exploring.
In battles, maps with force-field walls caused extra irritation when for instance they separated my team and the enemies for an entire round (once my team ended locked in a pen for the whole round). Way to extend the battle time without doing - or allowing me to do - anything substantial. Who thought that was a good idea?!
My greatest complaint is about repetiteveness, though. Too few maps for so many missions. I did 45, and because of the lack variety the latter half of the game felt like a chore.
Ultimately I would recommend it, but maybe wait for a sale.
