Good hidden-object adventure game, except for the boring story. Mad Head should be a bit more inventive next time, like they were with Adam Wolfe.

Buggy piece of .... Couldn't pass the game because of bugs. Some puzzles just don't work.

Highly recommend... if you can live with skipping a few puzzles Pros .Entertaining story .Often unsettling atmosphere .Wonderful clear crisp artwork/graphics/scenes .Adequate music/sounds/voice acting .Four difficulty modes, including custom .Can change difficulty mode in-game .Mini-map with fast travel (receive in-game) .Lockable toolbar .Gears appears when item in position for possible use .Simple to intricate adventure play .Wide variety of hidden object scenes .Variety of easy to moderately difficult mini-puzzles .Collectables (acorns) .Strategy guide .Bonus chapter .Decent length Cons .The two Dark Woods map mini-puzzles did not work. The starting scene was different than the one in the strategy guide and on Youtube (crowded path/no rock; partial board path/no fence), there were no icons to follow or items to click on in the scenes and no matter which way I went, the game said, 'What, I'm back where I started! I must have taken a wrong turn'. I had to skip them both in order to continue the game, something I've only done once before in a game. .When using the amulet towards the end on a small object, there are no gears to indicate correcting positioning but it is very picky; took numerous ties for me to get it right .Sometimes the instructions for the mini-puzzles needed more detail to be helpful. Final thoughts (8/10): Wow, what an difference from the first game. Everything on my cons list for that game was corrected or upgraded or both for this game. Great experience.

When this came out in 2017, it might have been seen as an okay-average HOG. in 2023, the artwork is dated, muddy, and not all that pleasing to the eye. The story is bad... which is to be expected from an HOG- but this one is worse than most. The puzzles often make no sense. Many are far too simple. while others are all trial & error- no real logic to them. Just keep guessing until you get it right. The game description says the game has achievements- not Steam Achievements, though. There are achievements that you can unlock and look at in-game. It's what I would call an average Big Fish Game. It might be okay as a time-killing $2.99 mobile game on a phone or tablet, but the full price for this on PC is far too high for a game with no Trading Cards and no Steam Achievements. If you do get it- wait until it is in a really cheap bundle or on sale for at least 75% off. I bought this back in 2018 at 65% off- and I still feel like I overpaid. I will finish it, because I am stubborn that way. But there is no real challenge, and no interesting story to keep me engaged otherwise. Just a bull-headed determination to finish what I started. 4/10- only get it if you have a serious HOG/HOPA obsession, and have to own them all- even the bad ones.
