The quest and combat are very repetitive.

coming along nicely. there are some QOL improvements needed, or explained better but a good port of D&D rules

Yep D&D old school. Great game play. Two different adventure types. I like the second one best as you can also do all kinds of neat stuff like making better weapons, gear with mining, woodcutting. It is very casual to play too. Need gold? Do a quest for a town and hit the dugeons. Don't forget the supplies. Best thing is you can quit and save at anytime. Very much recommended for D&D lovers.

I have this game since 2017. Back then you could only fight in the arena. Over the years it developed slow, but massively. Thanks to the developer chosing a minimal graphics desing he can concentrated on the depth of the classes, skill and the fights in general. You see it often a game with great graphiks, intresting charachters but shit gameplay. This one is the other way around. It doesen't over endeless gameplay and big worlds, but if you play it for twenty hours, then let it sit for a few year and come back there is always fun to be had with the new stuff.

My feelings are mixed on this game, but disappointed as of right now. May or may not change in the future. My main excitement for this game when I purchased it months ago was to be able to play a lightweight 3.5 SRD ruleset and mess around with various builds, especially the prestige classes. Sadly about half of them are greyed-out and are staying that way for the forseeable future, or at least that was the impression I got from the devs via email ("We won't rule out the possibility of develop these classes in the future, but we may also never develop them."). While I understand some players may enjoy the series of business updates (I feel like this is a lower portion of the playerbase, but I could be wrong), the majority of updates this year has been devoted to this system, or to hirelings (this update I actually liked). Seeing that races, classes, skills, etc. always at the very bottom of the to-do list, and always separated from the rest of the to-do list as if written in as an afterthought, really makes me regret my purchase at this point. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I play these types of games to play characters I want to customize and build, and then to run them through adventures, arenas, and dungeons to see how they do. While you can certainly do that in the game's current form, it just feels lacking, and all these side things don't really add much enjoyment to the game meaningfully.
