Thumbs up. Grid-map, turn-based fights that scratch my D&D 3.5/Pathfinder itch. No fluff, just crunchy combat.
Pros

3.5e mechanics. Flanks, AoOs, cover, choke points, tactics and positioning, just like at the table.

Faithful character building. Lots of ways to tune your crew and try different party comps.

Chill, jump-in friendly. Easy to knock out a few fights.

Tooltips are actually helpful. UI is basic, but the tooltip system does the heavy lifting.

I first picked up Low Magic Age when it initially launched, back when it was still fairly bare bones. Even then, I could see the incredible potential, but I decided to put it aside and wait for more features to be fleshed out.
Fast forward to today (I reinstalled it), and I’m absolutely blown away. The sheer number of improvements, the depth of new content, and the polish added since those early days is remarkable. As someone who’s a big fan of Hexcrawl-style tabletop games, I can confidently say that Low Magic Age now delivers that authentic Hexcrawl feel better than any other video game I’ve ever played.
It’s immersive, it’s addictive, and it scratches an itch I didn’t think a digital game could.
Totally hooked — 10/10.
