Not fun, just play undertale instead. Single player game has been early access for 3+ years with no substantial updates. Pretty sure is abandonware now

I bought this game a few years ago after having played and recorded a video of the demo back in 2017 when I first heard about the game. Back then I was a huge Undertale fan and I still am, the game reminded me a lot of Undertale and I was excited to play the full game when it came out. Seven years later and I'm still waiting for the full game to be done. Personally I could care less about all of the controversy going on with Pirate Software right now, I have little interest in silly internet drama. I could also care less about how the game is coded, Undertale wasn't coded well and it was still a fantastic game, being a new game developer myself I know full well that my code won't be perfect either because I barely know what I'm doing, but if it works, it works and that's what matters. There was a point in time where I had super high hopes for this game and was stoked for the full release, but now, after waiting seven years for the full game to be released my hopes have dwindled into almost nothing. It saddens me to make a negative review on the game and to tell people not to buy it because it's in a very unfinished state, but here it is. I just hope that one day soon the game will actually get done and get a full release instead of now being a side project for Pirate Software. Thanks for reading -Zark

I purchased Heartbound back in 2019, and what I did play through I can genuinely say left me wanting more! However now, I can see that no more work is being done on this game, despite the developer saying there is. The same amount of game play is in the game today as there was back then when I first purchased it. So many years without updates or news on anything coming makes me think that the games been given up on. I am very aware of the current developers recent events as well, though I don't want that to influence people buying/not buying the game. I don't want to just say "Don't buy this game because the dev is x or y!", though honestly its a pretty valid reason not too. I want to say don't buy this game because it is essentially a side project that may or may NOT be finished, especially now that most of Pirate Software's career has plummeted after the current state of his other projects/jobs. People haven't "review-bombed" everything this guy has touched, Heartbound is reviews as Mostly Negative because despite being constantly told that the section of the game titled "Animus" is almost completed, it is anything but. The game has been stuck in development limbo, with Animus being at 96-99% completion for over a year at this point. Do not consider buying this game until it is FOR SURE released, and even then I would reconsider giving money to the man who wants games to die, won't admit when he's wrong, and actively lies about most anything he can to sound "smart".

Only marking it positive so the creator doesn't take it down (yes, he's that petty). Terrible. Game play's terrible, dialog is cringe. The only pluses I will give it is that its art style's pretty and music's OK. Don't buy this game. You do five minutes of research about the creator and you realize that the game's never gonna come out. It's been in development for 10 years and has made barely any progress (likely from the terrible code-base that should probably be rewritten from the ground up if the guy wants any chance of releasing this thing within another 10 years). The game play (if you even consider it such), is the most basic you can get. Puzzles are way too easy, boss fights are mostly point and click, the rest is basically just walking around and looking for stuff. SOOO boring. The story is rushed with no depth. You aren't told anything about any of these characters. Given hints, but nothing to get you interested or enticed. There's really no reason to care for any of it. Steer clear of Heart Bound, play anything else.

It's been over four years and there is no meaningful progress on the game. Clearly there won't be. None of the promises of the store page/advertising are fulfilled by what content exists. If it still says early access - don't buy it. Edit: over SIX YEARS????

The game is pretty meh, felt like something my friends and I made in RPG maker, with better artwork. (recommending the game because dev will silence all real critics) I bought the game to support the dev. Despite the long road. Now I´d rather turn my rectal track into a new ferret rescue shelter than give this dude another cent of my time after this. Whats crazy is he inspired me to make my own game, to finish my music album, and change my careers to something that lets me enjoy my life more. lesson learned. People are not their "viral" clips. Actually watching him do any real streaming was mind numbing and a chore. Its super disappointing to see someone you admired keep falling face first into their own sphincters. At least I still have my actual achievements I accomplished and no phoney internet dude can take that away! To the commentors. To Govthefox, he has no idea what my game is called or who I would release it through, if I decided to release it. Nor am I afraid of a fake hacker. Even if his dad did work at Blizzard. The game is hilariously bad, the characters all talk like a knock off version of Sans, it doesn't matter if it's is your boss, your coworker, a magic book, a computer or some weird muffin guy, they all start with "Hey kiddo! " and ends with " see ya! ". It's like the developer played undertale and thought : "Hey, this Sans guy is pretty funny! I should let all my characters talk the exact same way! ". It was crazy how little content there are in this game, with a grand total of 3 puzzles, 2 minigames and 1 boss fight, it only takes you around 100 minutes to beat the game. This is completely unacceptable for a game that has been in development for 8 years. On top of that, all the puzzles are super easy and the minigames are literally made to waste your time. The quests also feels like it was made with the sole purpose of wasting your time, the NPC tells you to get something for them, you search through the map trying to find the thing, take the thing back to the NPC, They then tell you to go find another NPC, the next NPC tell you to find another thing for them, so on and so forth.

I bought and played this game 5 YEARS ago because I thought I saw potential, and it still isn't out yet. Considering that the "developer" behind this game would rather stream 12 hours of WoW a day instead of developing the game, I have accepted that I've been scammed, but don't make the same mistake I did.

Game is pretty much abandoned, recent updates were just to remove the ValVe warning of abandonment of the game. The utter lies from the only developer on this game have become too much, a patch every month? utter lies and is shown on steam db and even the posts on here, the April Fools update isn't even an update. Honestly Jason, say you're a streamer and not a developer.
