For a game about movement nd speed, it is suprisinglyslow, along withsome very non-fluid controlls. This game has very good potential, I just feel like it should have the player's in game movement be based around the player's actual movement. This game (as it stands control-wise) is not based around movement, it is based around aiming. you do not swing from grabbable objects, you aim your controllers towards the objects, then you aim your head where you want to go, and you let go of the object and launch towards the way you're facing. You should have to move throughout the enbironment, not aim through it. if you are looking for fast-pased fuild vr gameplay, this is not the game for you, play Sprint Vector. Sprint Vector's parkour segments (even though they're not the focus of the game) really show how bad this game's control scheme is.

Already like it. Pretty cool and unique game with it's own controls and gameplay style. Not just climbey clone, as you may think at first. Give it a try... it feels very fresh.
Sry 4 my bad english.

TO THE TOP is a speedrunning game that has you rock climbing and jumping really fucking high (and occasionally falling to your death) to get to the finish line in as little time as possible (so if you get motion sickness from VR games easily, maybe don't play the game that has you moving and falling at high velocity from great heights).
Your main method of movement is your weird extend-o arms. You can reach about six feet in front of you and you can grab onto any surface that's colored blue. There's also yellow surfaces that will break after about two seconds and "arrow" surfaces that will propel you in the direction it is pointing. You can alternate between grabbing with your right and left hands to slowly climb up, or you can let go with both hands at the same time to give yourself a super jump in the direction you're looking. If you're REALLY good you can grab onto and jump off of a surface you're not even looking at. Also, there's a combo system for jumps, so if you jump multiple times in quick succession without stopping you’ll jump slightly farther with each jump (up to four jumps).
The objective is to use your super jumping abilities to get from the start to the finish in as little time as possible and levels are unlocked with medals. There are first, second, and third place, and each one will earn you one medal for each one. There is also a medal for collecting all the gems in a level and one medal for finding the “secret” in each level. Each level has around ten gems scattered around each level and fining them all will earn you one medal. The “secret” is sort of like a gem, but it’s hidden better than regular gems are and there’s usually some trick to getting to them, since they’re not on the main course.
Overall the gameplay is really great. Jumping around feels really intuitive, and there’s a challenge to get the fastest time and finding the gems, so there’s a pretty good replay value in this game. The visuals are also really good. It almost has a sort of Mirror’s Edge kind of feel to it with its bright colors. Plus the blue surfaces that you can grab onto are sort of like the red surfaces you can grab onto in Mirror’s Edge, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the devs had some inspiration there (there’s even a level that has a striking resemblance to the first level in Mirror’s Edge). Overall if you like speedrunning games, you will like TO THE TOP.

To The Top is an absolutly crazy VR experience. I am only one hour in and the controls still amaze me, which is refreshing considering the typical VR game for the median price of 20 dollars, and even more so considering the controls are so basic. I originally expected a rock climbing style vibe akin to Climbey, but in the very first level, you learn that is impossible. This game is about making large gaps and building momentum to overcome even larger gaps. The game rewards speed, and if you enjoy improving times like a Goldeneye speedrunner, you will enjoy the task of rerunning sections just to get a faster time.
Pros
-Game is very fast and unexpected, fresh gameplay that doesn't even have a screenplay comparison.
-The feeling of knowing that your time improvements meant you were physically fast AF.
-Resetting run after a misstep is a breeze with the checkpoint system, which doesnt slow the player down.
-The feeling of slamming into a wall and making a desperate reach for a single hand hold only to barely get it.
-An absolutly amazing soundtrack to complement the movement. From Jazz to synth, it just works.
Cons
-Initial gameplay can confuse with the grabbing pull in. Your hands are not fixed to the actual controller most times.
-Yellow break holds seem too fast for some sections. Medium 3rd (or 4th) level is the absolute worst.
-Overhanded swinging from block to block seems sketchy. I could swear I had a hand on a block but it didn't register.
To The Top is a strange experience coming from someone who religiously played both Mirrors Edges and most parkour based games. It has traditional climber mechanics but rewards fast paced jumping and gap clearing like a platformer. It has strong soundtrack to back its gameplay but can reach a point where frustration with the hand control system can boil over. If you reach past that dip, the gameplay begins to spiral back into speedrun heaven, and the rewarding sense of knowing your body completed the time on the board is exceptional compared to traditional screen games.

WOW! What a rush!
This game is AMAZINGLY good, like the VR version of Mirror's Edge in many ways. The way the grabbing system works is a little less realistic but its very intuitive for doing super-fast speed hops from one surface to another. Speed builds up as you successfully hop multiple times and when coupled with surfaces that can effect the way you move it can allow you to build yourself up and .. just .. FLY!
The level design is also something to be admired. Each level has a certain amount of "Geoms" you have to collect which make for cool challenge points requiring you to really observe the level and use the terrain in many fun and interest ways in order to collect them. There is also a Hidden "geom" in each level which are SO rewarding to find and often very challenging to reach.
After about an hour's play I have so far only unlocked about a 3rd of the game so I feel like, so far at least, there is plenty of longevity although as I get better at the game I might end up breezing through it. However the existence of Hidden geoms and requiring to collect all the geoms in the game will make for a much lengthier experience overall.
Plus, the game is just FUN, like I would come back to any one of these levels just to feel the rush of certain mechanics of each level. I could easily see myself spending 10 hours plus in this game. Seriously if you started playing this game and you're thinking "meh" .. JUST GET TO THE LEVEL WITH THE FREAKING HALF-PIPES... HOLY SHIT!
Update: 10 Hours ..... HAH!
Also as an Oculus Rift user ,SteamVR generally runs very poorly for me. To the Top only supports SteamVR currently but due to the low-fidelity of the graphics it doesnt seem to effect me too much, I have had near 0 frame frops, judder or tracking loss. On top of that, the Dev's went the extra mile to add a Controller tilt/rotate option to the options menu which allowed me to get the hands feeling more or less the way they should on the Touch Controllers. +10 Dev points for that, excellent fore-sight while they work on the proper Oculus Version for Oculus Home.
Update 2: As of the latest version, Oculus is now natively supported by the game. It also added 5 new levels and multiplayer. Definitely get in on this if you haven't already.
Overall, DONT miss this game .. I 100% recommend it. Must BUY!

DO NOT GET IF YOU ARE DISABLED like me, the game is fine i use the advanced steam vr app, but you cant use it on this due to you to physically turn, and NOT just the thumb stick also applies to sealed (dah) so if you have working legs and the space to move in all directions then yes go for this game

Ironically, the only thing I don't like in this game is its unique climbing mechanic. You don't physically pull yourself to move like in Echo VR. To move in this game you have to point and click at the specific colored surface, which sometimes feel more like a shooting game. This is when a VR game feel too "game-like" and not so immersive.
Other than that the game is just so...cool! Music is cool, environment is cool, the color is cool, the sense of speed is cool. I feel like becoming a cooler person after playing.

I feel like my first review really didn't do justice to this game.
The further you progress in this game, the better it gets! The medium levels are much better than the easy ones and the hard ones even exceed the medium ones!
You shouldn't buy this game considering it a climbing game like Climbey. It is more about leaping and reminds me of some old school 3d platformers like Mario 64 at times (especially when it comes to the collecting aspect).
I love the variety of challenges it provides (speedrunning to get medals or exploring the levels to find hidden ones) and how it keeps introducing new gameplay elements even during the last few levels.
I'd love to see some DLC or even more so a sequel in the future.
Do yourself a favor and give this game a chance, even if you're not blown away at first. At least keep playing until you get to the medium levels.

VR Mirror's Edge. This game is so much fun! Really makes you feel like you're flying at high speeds through the city. Great soundtrack, great visuals, and dizzying heights!

I actually had refunded this after getting stuck on the 3rd map. Stupid me.
A reviewer reached out to me and told me I was playing it wrong (like climbey). So I bought it again and went back in, looking where I wanted to go instead of swinging my arms. Hours later I pull off the headset, grinning.
This is the best movement/racing/climbing VR game hands down. Since you don't run on the ground like windlands, people (my wife) do not get the motion sickness in this title. Because simply pointing and clicking allows you to climb and jump around, your arms don't get as tired as they do in Climbey.
This is the best VR game I've bought in months.
