this games busted. weapons/progress disappear after saving and exiting the game, constant spots in the world where you'd just get stuck and would have to reload the entire game, and level scaling sucks. I really did like this game back on the 360 but i cannot recommend in 2025
EDIT: I decided to persevere and replayed the progress i lost, saved the game to make sure it worked, it did save, proceed to beat the game, go to main menu to play true vault hunter, back to level 23 zero progress saved. AVOID THIS GAME LIKE THE PLAGUE ;-;

TL;DR:
Borderlands 2 is untrustworthy due to spyware concerns, but the gameplay remains fun (especially with friends and on harder difficulties).
Full review:
Like many others have said, Borderlands 2 now contains spyware and isn’t trustworthy. That said, the gameplay is still worth it, especially with friends and on higher difficulties.
I don't recommend this game due to the first sentence of my full review.

Banning mods in a singleplayer game is on another level of greed. And threatening to perma ban the player for using mods is just evil. Not to mention having all of your person information at their discretion to use against you in court when you break one of their new rules. Take 2 can go **** themselves and shove their terms and conditions up their mother's *** , I'm not desperate to play a game that came out over a decade ago and I'm not interested in buying their new hot dog **** game.

fun game, dont know why we're changing the eula on a 13 year old game to collect personal information, hope they get the blockstone treatment.

Played this game on Xbox and PC since it came out. I love every entry in the series for one reason or another, but the new policy agreement is insane and tarnishes the series forever... They are telling us we need to agree to not actually owning the game to let us install it. I now dont own the game ive owned for a decade. How they can tell me i dont own a game i purchased before this policy? gfys

The fuck are you idiots doing. Remove it and apologize. You aren't a big pvp game that needs anticheat.

This negative review has nothing to do with the EULA. Basically every EULA has some predatory bullshit nowadays, and it sucks, but people will read something about how a company can remember your card info for future purchases and turn it into "this game will actively scan your files for bank details".
No, this negative review is because they plastered a Borderlands 4 ad in the main menu. My computer overheats about 20 minutes into Borderlands 3, so Gearbox are truly assuming a lot by trying to market it via bloatware.

Was once an amazing game, now you can't even install without accepting new EULA despite owning it before that. Disgusting anti-consumer practises, do not support this behaviour or Borderlands 4. The fact other companies also do this doesn't make it acceptable in any way.

goat game. a lot of people who think they arent already getting spied are scared of the updated eula, but its a pretty standard eula if you actually read it. I dont see people review bombing halo even though you have to play it online(yes even for the campaign), and you have to make an account, and after all that you still have to give your data over. its the same thing but with more steps, with no angry review bombing mob behind it. not saying people should review bomb halo either im just confused how many people stopped thinking for themselves, and blindly took misinformation at face value

Changing the eula a decade later to quash a thriving modding community might be the scuzziest thing I've ever heard of. Shame on you take two. Nice way to put yourself on the fast track to irrelevancy.
