EXZEAL Reviews
A sequel that isn’t afraid to be different. EXZEAL is the followup to TRIZEAL Remix, but it’s much more than a simple rehash. Choose between multiple ships and specialize in each one’s weapon system. Will you focus on shooting, shot charging, or close-range attacks? In EXZEAL, it’s your choice.

Exzeal has few things going for it, but for the most part it did not impress me. And I believe to give it a recommendation game has to be more than okay.
Exzeal has 4 ships to choose from: two with charge attacks, one a basic powerful shot and one with a side melee attack. Honestly, I mostly stick with the basic ship. As I rarely like charge mechanics in my shmups, and the melee one often got me in trouble more than it was useful. However, I rate ship options as one of the stronger points of the game.
An interesting mechanic that the game has is a push with your shot attack or rotational weight of some enemies. This allows you to rotate certain otherwise impervious enemies by shooting them off-center rotating the opposite direction. This is also used to push blocks up and out of your way. That said, I can't say if I like or dislike the mechanic. It doesn't make up much of the game. Which I think is for the best, as I don't think it's well developed. And I don't think I would enjoy the game more if this rotational/push mechanic was a key part of Exzeal. What this mechanic does is make the game more memorable than it otherwise would be.
Exzeal is certainly not a beautiful game. That may be because I much prefer pixel art to polygons, but the game isn't very striking to me. I don't think its ugly. Just unremarkable. Which is my assessment of the overall game. It doesn't do anything wrong per se, but other than some physics mechanics; it also doesn't do much to stand out. It doesn't help that it one of many of the -ZEAL series of shooters that all kinda blend together.
So I can't really recommend this game which doesn't do anything wrong, but also doesn't really do anything outstanding either. It feels just a little too bare bones and under-wrought.

Exzeal is a shmup that's built entirely around its scoring systems. If you like thinking about what you are doing and how you can do it better, this is a great game. If you just want to shoot stuff and dodge bullets though, this game is hard to recommend.
Many of the attack waves don't really do much, or have hard to reach hit boxes that don't make sense just shooting at normally. Instead, look at your ships attack type and how it gets bonuses, and how you can maximize each wave. There's a way to kill even the trickiest of enemies, and there's likely a different way to do it "well".
Exzeal has five ships to try out and they all play differently and have different solutions to the game's many puzzles. The XII Stag ship in particular is a nice addition for those who are familiar with it, and burning up enemies with your exhaust never gets old. Note: to play the hidden fifth ship, select type 3 with exactly 13 seconds left on the timer.
The biggest downside to this game is, oddly enough, hand fatigue. Two of the ships have a charge up mechanic, which can be sped up by rapidly rotating your joystick / thumb pad / keyboard fingers. The XII Stag ship has an auto-rotate button, however the others do not (this would have been a great addition). It's not as bad as Psyvariar games, but I definitely feel the burn after longer play sessions. I can just envision an arcade owner getting frustrated as players wear out the joysticks every week from spinning circles non-stop, hehe.

Not a BAD game overall, but a very bland one. Everything here, from the gameplay to the graphics, is very uninspired.
Buy it only if it is one of the very last shmup in the store you've not purchased yet. Otherwise, there's plenty of better options.

No Warning sign when enemy appears from bottom, which kills me more than 10 times.
Also, those enemies are RANDOM.
In the last stage, it is basically impossible to get NMNB with random enemies from left and right with some plane.
in the last stage, I am getting killed by either the bullet full of screen or the enemy rushing from bottom right to bottom left.
I must be full of stupidity to play this game.
Getting 1cc needs 95% luck and 5% apathy towards the world

First i am going to say that this game is not bad, but is a bit generic and the interest in the game mechnics get stale after you play xiizeal (another one from triangle service). However I can only recomend it if you buy it with discount. at current price i can´t recomend it as in my point of view is expensive for what it is compared to other shmups games in the market.
Pros:
- There is nothing wrong in gameplay mechanics , bullet patterns. graphic and sound while not great do their service. the game is ok to play.
-the stage design has vertical hazards, some enemyes rotate. but while this things are original, they are not that fun to play.
- It is good to have a classic shmup (not bullet hell) in this era as the simple and classic gameplay as his charm.you have normal shoot , a special shoot and a bomb and pretty much sums it up.
- some enemyes (specialy bosses are quite original and unique), the 4th boss with a vacuum cleaner is great and i wish more shmups would use this idea
- has tate mode, and you can also zoom and move the gameplay area.
It has 4 different ships with different mechanics, the first 3 are unispired and generic, the 4th one is interesting but gets stale because xiizeal has similiar mechanics , but is a much more interesting game
Cons
- The visual clarity while not bad, certainly could be improved
-there is is a limit of 3 credits. I think it is elitist, every gamer should have a oportunity to reach all levels
In the end we have a shmup equal to many. with nothing wrong, but also nothing great (witch is still a problem). When we see old and better shmups like ikaruga, toaplan games and psycho here on steam at a better and cheaper price and also some good modern ones cheap i can´t recomend this game. Buy it if you like classic shmups and want to play something new to have fun (my case) but with a discount as i did (at least 60% discount).

Amazing game with great music. If you like any of the zeal games in the series or any shmups for that matter, then you really cant go wrong with this game. This game is also on the amazing demul(naomi, cave etc) emulator but the arcade versions dont have the same remixed music as the steam version if that matters to you.

This game is a puzzle shoot 'em up similar to Radiant Silvergun. Some puzzles are physics-based. It's kinda cool that all the games in the Zeal series are different from one another.

I don't know who thought it'd be funny to bring the best game in the series down to Mixed, but I do know that it just ain't right.

Vertical space shooter. Good controls. Part reflex based, part memorizer. Interesting side shot mechanic. Good presentation, decent graphics, good audio. Questionable random attacks.

I've always been a low-key fan of shmups like r-type, galaga, and more. EXZEAL offers such a great unique style of shmups with good and quick paced gameplay, with a cool selection of 4 ships offering different shooting mechanics for some unique playstyles.
As well as the soundtrack is super catchy, I kept replaying the game many times because of how great it flows with the game.
Honestly EXZEAL is super underrated and anyone who loves shmups of any style, YOU HAVE to try this game out, 10/10
