Quite good! Really fun topdown shooter... With 4 characters with 4 skills each, each skill with branching upgrades, you're likely talking bare minimum 16 runs before you're out of totally novel builds to do a 20-40+ minute full clear. It's not a bad amount of gameplay at all... and that's before you talk about some 40ish support items, a good sized list of achievements, and 10 or so challenge modes specific to each character. The core gameplay was more than fun enough to hold my interest through quite a lot so far, and I've still got energy to do more when I've time. Very worth your time. There's also a free demo, which is what left me waiting excitedly for it months back, so if you're not sure, I reccomend trying that (it's a solid example of the gameplay). I'll be honest that it could use the second level the devs have said is coming (there's also some sort of artifact system not yet fully implemented I'm interested to see), some vareity would just be nice in terms of scenery (and enemies?)... But for the price, I'm plenty happy with the core content released so far to a point I'm excited for the rest as icing on the cake, rather than tapping my foot with impatience.

While easily overlooked because of its graphics, Gerty is a hidden gem of the roguelite genre. It's not Bindings of Isaac or Nuclear Throne, but I'd take this over Enter the Gungeon any day. Distinct enemies and unique characters combined with a unique risk and reward resource gathering approach add replayability on top of a broad selection of unlockable gameplay modifiers.

I feel like I'm playing something from the late 90's / early 00's that was unfairly ignored at the time. This is a fun action experience with that spice of digging tunnels that means the map is something you contribute to.

Great little game, well made, lots going on, with some nice innovations. I dont like controllers and so too hard on my kb fingers, but otherwise a real beauty.

I think $16.99 is a little too much to ask for this game in its current state, but I would say that it's probably worth it if you've tried the demo, and want to support the development of the game as a whole. Currently there are only like 6 or 7 levels that you can play through until you reach a final boss. After beating the boss, you basically get a screen saying that you've reached the end of the content for the current Early Access release, and to try playing on a harder level. I really do like where this game is headed -- my kids and I had a blast playing through the content in about an hour or so.

Everything is fine with the gameplay but its impossible to play in coop using xbox one/s gamepads + xbox 360 gamepads at the same time. The control constantly bugging - the game recognizes some buttons pressed when they are not. Can u fix the control pls...

I heard a description of this game as Risk of Rain underground... which kinda fits, but there aren't random item drops. Lots of stuff to unlock, but I'm worried how long that will last. No real story... More content will come. Unless you are getting this on sale wait till the full release. I would like to see more: playable characters, stages, items.

TLDR: Duke Nukem, Doom, Crimsonland, had a top down mining RPG baby with perks upon inventory, upon defense, offense, and general usage items, your $fame of planetary conquests will net you your future performances, in the story-roguelite, Bosses are like the UUUGGE Dungeon Siege kind- fill the screen and annihilate you. There are like 4 types of shops to use in-game with the things you mine, each shops have available based on the level, and your Fame-currency unlocks post-death. The shops are: -utility :-stat :-offence :-defence : Version 1.0 Release: Rogue mode: Incredible, Local co-op incredible, feels like crimson land in doom levels, the bosses feel super large with powers the size of their health bars, and after your levels, you use your fame to unlock upgrades available at the three types of perk shops in-game. Your inventory can only hold like 10 upgrades max though, and then you start also paying for upgrades in a different currency after you have consumed certain tier of purple-crystal credits. Very cool to chill and play alone, or rampage the whole planet with friends, Different characters to unlock after you beat the levels must still be completed by this noob > Incredibly fun. Alien. Universal. Randomly Generated, Challenging as hell, Painkiller, CrimsonLand, Addictive, View: top-down Takes two attempts to get used to the game- WASD< Spacebar, middle mouse, left and right clicks. 4 abilities. Upgradeable EVERYTHING> There is a tutorial, but i just looked at in-game key-bindings - you feel the flow eventually. Many types of enemies. From bombers that attack you when you're in a concave, to outright robotic beasts that will pound you out of existence. Rogue-Mode still to be tested- Loved the fluidity and ability to have fun in multiple directions in the game. Perks come 1 in ever 5 levels, so what you choose here depends on your next unlocks. Very exciting. Still unlocks in the menu that will aid your in-game adventures. So much to explore. Upgrades: WIth Juice shards Open Lootboxes In-game EVERY SINGLE LEVEL _ Multiple - 8- or 4-5-6 loot boxes to gather, then you keep surviving and fueling your progress. You dig through the snowy planet, and mountain rocks, upgrade while you're leveling up, you basically upgrade whatever you are doing, and gain HP, shields, whether temporary, and then you get unlockable weapon upgrades, so as you play you gather Fame with what you do , like overall Experience points, to spend on a line of traits in the menu, to make your in-game experience, faster, or more tactile, or more explosion-oriented, or stealth-oriented & You are able to test all lines with the Fame system - as it will let you reset it if you want to try a different Lineage of Fame investments - Menu has rogue mode also!@ but either way, you can keep playing and upgrade one line of character., THEN _ finally - when you get maybe close to bored, you should have unlocked more characters :) [there are 4 others, and they look awesome. ] TLDR: VERY COOL GAME< Full of life. Like Risk of Rain/2 - but top-down version ;) and you have a lot more CHOICE::::::::::)

I played this with my brother while he was in town because he said that he wanted to play a game with upgrades. That it was, but when I got the achievement for beating the game after the end of world TWO, we both lost a couple seconds of our lives in astonishment. "What? That's it?!?" was our mutual reaction. We spent more time analyzing our upgrades (equipment, perks, etc.) than we did playing the actual game. It sucks, too, because we were both really enjoying the game, but once our characters became formidable, the game was over! :(
